Paramount Pictures announced today it ended 2011 in the No. 1 position among all studios, having achieved the highest total combined gross of any studio for the year, earning a record $5.17 billion worldwide. The studio, which released a total of 16 new releases domestically this year, placed first in the North American market share with $1.96 billion, while also amassing record grosses at the international box office with $3.21 billion....

If you are not a fan of spoilers be forewarned, the sixth season of the award-winning drama Peaky Blinders has already been released on BBC in the UK as of Feb 27, 2022; however, American audiences will have to wait until June 10, 2022, to follow the exploits of their favorite criminal enterprise. Legendary musician Roger Waters has recorded the original song “Hello (I Love You)” to be featured in New Line Cinema’s upcoming sci-fi film The Last Mimzy (to be released nationwide on March 23rd). Waters collaborated with Academy Award-winning composer Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and Grammy Award-winning Pink Floyd producer James Guthrie (The Wall) on the song, which marks only the second time Waters has ever recorded an original song specifically for a motion picture....

Captain Jack Sparrow has really taken the world by storm. His third film, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, keeps raking in that filthy International box office booty. It hauled in a hefty $51.3 million at 17,500 theaters in 103 markets. It was able to take down it’s first major opponent in Ocean’s Thirteen. According to Variety, Danny and the boys were no match for the Black Pearl. Still, that film managed to earn a pretty solid $28 million....

Well, genre fans are in for a treat this Halloween as the new supernatural horror Prey for the Devil hits our screens. Directed by Daniel Stamm and written by Robert Zappia, we are being given something totally new this October with this brand-new supernatural horror....

Our first look at Prey has been revealed by way of some new concept art released by 20th Century on Friday. The teases the web shortly after the news broke that Predator 5 has been officially titled as Prey with plans to release on Hulu in 2022. The artwork gives us a peek at the movie’s lead character, Amber Midthunder’s Naru, with a Predator lurking in the fog behind her. Another photo features the movie’s Prey title with the classic Predator font....

The Writer/Producer explains how he brought this passion project to TV In Wraiths of Roanoke, Adrian Paul stars in this story about the famed missing colony. In the late 16th century, colonists on Roanoke Island, Virginia, found themselves under siege against evil spirits left behind by the Vikings. The Wraiths are hunting the innocent souls of the first-born children in order to get into Valhalla. Raya and the Last Dragon is a 2021 animated movie directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada. The movie tells the story of Raya (Kelly Marie Tran), a warrior princess from Kumandra who has trained to protect a dragon gem belonging to the ancient dragons, and containing incredible power. An attempt at stealing the gem results in it being broken into five pieces and scattered through the five kingdoms of Kumandra, along with awakening the evil Druun spirits....

Will Ferrell is a comedic actor and writer who has been making audiences laugh for over two decades. He first rose to fame as a cast member on Saturday Night Live, where his impressions of George W. Director Rian Johnson has declared the pride he feels over his divisive entry into the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi. In an interview with Empire, Johnson states that, in the five years since release, he is even prouder of what he did with the iconic mythos now than he was then and is very glad that he took such a swing. Johnson did indeed really swing at the ball in his installment of the Disney Star Wars sequel trilogy, introducing a version of legendary Jedi Luke Skywalker that audiences did not expect....

Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles (JFS) will hold its thirteenth annual gala fundraising dinner at The Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills on Tuesday May 23, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. Deborah Barak and Dr. Etan Milgrom will receive the Spirit of Humanity Award. Connie Mandles will receive the Anita and Stanley Hirsh Award. The masters of ceremonies will be Rob Morrow and David Krumholtz, the stars of the hit CBS series Numb3rs....

Paramount Pictures is returning to organized crime and is bringing Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro with them. The studio has attached Steve Zaillian to adapt I Heard You Paint Houses, a book by Charles Brandt about the mob assassin who many believe had something to do with the disappearance and presumed death of Teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa. According to Variety, Scorsese will direct and De Niro will play Frank “the Irishman” Sheeran, who is reputed to have carried out more than 25 mob murders....

The Lord of the Rings is one of the most popular fantasy series of all time. Over the years, there have been numerous adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, ranging from the live-action film trilogy directed by Peter Jackson in the early 2000s to the TV special of The Hobbit from Rankin/Bass in the late ‘70s. Marcel the Shell With Shoes On is a mockumentary/stop-motion film focusing on the adventures of Marcel (Jenny Slate), an anthropomorphic shell living with his grandmother (both of whom have been separated from their family) in a home that is being rented out as an Airbnb after the original couple moved out. When recently divorced documentarian Dean (director and writer Dean Fleischer-Camp playing a fictional version of himself) moves in, he begins filming Marcel and, through a series of YouTube videos, attempts to help Marcel find his lost family....

Fans of G.I. Joe predictably rolled their eyes in fear with the news that Marlon Wayans, noted for his comedy films, was going to be playing Ripcord in G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra. However, Wayans recently reassured MTV that the film was going to remain true to the action-adventure roots of the cartoon. “The movie is serious, action and some comedy - but not all comedy,” insisted Wayans. “You pull off the reigns; I did what was appropriate for the role and for the character....

Paramount+ has recently released the official trailer for its upcoming series Mayor of Kingstown. The series stars Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker, Hawkeye) as Mike McLusky, who is the mayor of a fictional city called Kingstown located in the state of Michigan. In Kingstown, incarceration is the only thriving industry. The upcoming television series was created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon. Latino Review caught up with Terminator Salvation director McG and pressed some questions about his upcoming project 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It turns out he’s trying to get Will Smith to play his main character Nemo: The film is an origin story of Nemo as he creates his warship, the Nautilus. The characters come from the Jules Verne novel. McG talked a bit about his idea and all of a sudden I heard him say, “The character Nemo in this film is more about obsession, he is obsessed and people tend to forget that when you become so obsessed you end up being the villain....
