British comedic legend Tommy Maitland has been announced to host ABC’s irreverent talent show competition The Gong Show, which premieres on Thursday, June 22 at 10:00 p.m. EDT. The show is executive produced by actor/comedian Will Arnett. While the network presented a detailed back story for Tommy Maitland in their official announcement, he is believed to be a character created specifically for hosting this series, played by Mike Myers. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the network isn’t expected to name Mike Myers in any of the promotional materials for the show, or even in the show’s credits....

There’s going to be more Monsters at Work at Disney+. The streaming service has just officially renewed the Monsters, Inc. spinoff series for season 2 with plans to bring the show back in 2023. The announcement was made by Disney+ with a tweet that included a compilation video of all the times the Monsters at Work characters said the number 2 in season 1. Serving as a direct sequel to Monsters, Inc....

Beyoncé, Melissa Etheridge, Jennifer Hudson, Randy Newman, Keith Robinson, Anika Noni Rose and James Taylor are all set to perform this year’s Oscar- nominated songs on the 79th Academy Awards show, telecast producer Laura Ziskin has announced. Beyoncé will perform “Listen” (music by Henry Krieger and Scott Cutler, lyric by Anne Preven), one of three Original Song nominees from the musical Dreamgirls. Also from Dreamgirls will be Hudson singing “Love You I Do” (music by Henry Krieger and lyric by Siedah Garrett), and Rose, Robinson and other cast mates performing “Patience” (music by Henry Krieger and lyric by Willie Reale)....

Changes are coming to National City as Supergirl Season 5 adds a new supersuit and characters to the fold. Joining the small screen Arrowverse this season are DC’s Andrea Rojas (aka Acrata) and renowned reporter William Dey. The announcements come straight from the powerful Supergirl 2019 Comic-Con International panel where the showrunners and cast took to the stage on Saturday to discuss the upcoming season. The Good One can now carry this seminal, 80s film around with them in their back pocket, what’s not to like? This title really holds up well in the UMD format. The Bad A little bit of pixilation occurs in the jungle scenes, especially when we see the movie from the Predator’s point of view. I was a bit skeptical watching Predator on my PSP. It is just one of those movies that’s so big, so full of action that it seemed like my player could actually be overwhelmed by the images and stylistic tones of the film....

A Red Sonja remake has been circling for a long while, but back in August, it was announced that Millennium Media finally revealed that the production on the movie had finally started in Bulgaria with Matilda Lutz taking on the title role. Now the first image has been released of Lutz in character as the comic book heroine. Red Sonja has been in development for over a decade, having first been put into development back in 2008, when Rose McGowan was expected to lead the new adaptation of the Dynamite Comics character....

Rick and Morty will seemingly live on forever, at least according to the series showrunner. There was a time when the show had lengthy delays between seasons, regularly taking two to three years to release new adventures between the titular characters. Now, in an interview with Inverse, showrunner Scott Marder and producer James Siciliano say a new season of the show will release every year. Marder was brought on the series at the tail end of season 4, primarily tasked with helping with the day-to-day production of season 5....
