Netflix, Inc., the world’s leading Internet subscription service for enjoying movies and TV shows, and Lionsgate, a leading global entertainment company, today announced a multiyear syndication deal in which Lionsgate has licensed the first four seasons of its Emmy Award-winning series Mad Men to be watched instantly by Netflix members starting July 27, with additional seasons being added annually after they complete airing on their respective seasons on the AMC network....

FX has recently revealed the premiere date for the fourth and upcoming season of the Sons of Anarchy spin-off series. Mayans M.C. will return to the small-screen in April. FX had initially renewed the popular series for a fourth season back in April last year. After a very long ten months, Mayans M.C. fans finally have an answer of when the series will return. Disney has signed on McG to direct 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo, and is putting the family film on the fast track. According to Variety, McG most recently directed Terminator Salvation, and had multiple studios vying for his next slot. Sources said he will be paid $8 million against 7% of gross. Sean Bailey (Tron 2.0) is producing with McG’s Wonderland Sound and Vision. Scripted by Bill Marsilli, the film is an origin story of Nemo as he creates his warship, the Nautilus....

Two new websites were launched today for the upcoming sci-fi sequel Men in Black III, which arrives in theaters May 25. Drama scribe Michael Seitzman has inked a two-year overall deal with ABC Studios, according to Variety. Seitzman penned two drama scripts that went to pilot last year for ABC Studios: family dynasty drama Empire State for ABC and House Rules, about freshmen lawmakers in Congress, for CBS. Seitzman said he intends to pen two pilots in the coming development season, and he’s in the process of winnowing his candidates from a host of ideas that he’s been kicking around to develop under his Michael Seitzman’s Pictures banner....

It seems that actor Mickey Rourke could be gearing up to take on a feared Mongol leader for a new biopic. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Rourke is circling Genghis Khan, which was written by John Milius. Here’s an excerpt from the site’s story. The sad news has been reported that Ron Masak has passed away. The actor, perhaps best known for his role as Sheriff Mort Metzger on Murder, She Wrote, died on Thursday according to an announcement made by his daughter on a Facebook fan page. Masak’s granddaughter, Kaylie Defilippis, later confirmed the news to THR, noting that he died of natural causes at a California hospital. He was 86 years old....

TV Guide magazine, one of the most popular magazines in the country, with 21 million readers each week, has partnered with NBC and Twentieth Century Fox Television for a unique interactive promotion. The Emmy Award-winning comedy My Name Is Earl, one of the most talked-about comedies on television, will air the first-ever original “Laugh ’n Sniff” interactive episode on NBC on Thursday, May 3 at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT. Tenacious D tends to take a long time between projects. Part of that has to do with the fact that Jack Black has himself a very busy career as an actor in Hollywood.
