Morbius, the Sony film released earlier this year, is making a return to theaters, according to ComicBook.com. Despite awful reviews across the board, and a lackluster performance at the box office, Morbius is coming back for more. The film reportedly had the second-worst box office drop in superhero genre history, dropping 73%, behind the 1997 film Steel starring Shaquille O’Neal. The new show times start this Friday, with reports that the film will return in over 1,000 theaters across the United States....

The Best International Film category at the Oscars has had an interesting history. Called the Best Foreign Language Film category until it received its current name in 2020, the first few awards were more honorary, with the category not being considered an official competitive category until the 29th Academy Awards, with Federico Fellini’s La Strada winning that year for Italy. As of August 2022, 62 different nations have received nominations in the category, with 28 of them emerging victorious....

Bringing five-time Emmy Award winner Neil Patrick Harris to the network, NBC has ordered a new primetime variety series based on the hugely popular U.K. format Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, which was created by ITV Studios, Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. The series is an institution in the U.K., winning multiple awards, including two prestigious BAFTA’s in 2014. Harris, who has served as an Emmy Awards and Tony Awards host and was recently announced as host of the 2015 Academy Awards, will bring his multi-dimensional skills to the forefront of this new hourlong series....

Everyone’s favorite dog and inventor pairing will soon be back on the big screen. Aardman’s Wallace and Gromit are making their triumphant return with an all-new Netflix movie set for release in 2024. First debuting in 1989 with the short A Grand Day Out, the titular man and man’s best friend have starred in four short films, two television series, and one feature film. The upcoming movie will be the first appearance of the two since the short-lived TV series Wallace and Gromit’s World of Invention in 2010....

Lionsgate, the leading next generation studio, today announced that it has acquired U.S. distribution rights from Lakeshore Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment to the upcoming crime thriller One for the Money, starring Katherine Heigl (Lionsgate’s upcoming Killers, Grey’s Anatomy). The film is based on the first novel in writer Janet Evanovich’s bestselling Stephanie Plum series. Lakeshore’s Elisabeth Costa de Beauregard and Nick Meyer’s Sierra Pictures are jointly handling international distribution. The announcement was jointly made today by Joe Drake, Lionsgate Chief Operating Officer and Motion Picture Group President, Tom Rosenberg, Lakeshore Entertainment Chairman and CEO, and Sidney Kimmel, Sidney Kimmel Entertainment (SKE) Chairman....

Actress Rachel McAdams will present the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Scientific and Technical Awards on Saturday, February 18, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. Special effects wizard Randy Westgate will be creating the special make-up effects to create the Blob for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. According to X-Men Films.net, Westgate is working specifically with actor Kevin Durand who is reportedly slated to play the Blob in the film. Westgate has been nominated for eight primetime Emmy Awards, and has won three awards from the Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild. Westgate’s credits include The Hottie & the Nottie, Mad TV, Red Dragon and Fight Club....

In a development that would surely delight Peter Griffin, the late ’80s cult film Road House is getting a remake for Prime Video.
