Resident Alien is returning for season 2 on SyFy. The network has handed out an early renewal to the series, which stars Alan Tudyk in the lead role and is based on the Dark Horse Comics series of the same name. After delivering a well-received pilot, Ricky Gervais and partner Stephen Merchant have been given a full season order for their third series collaboration Life’s Too Short, which will first air on BBC2. The duo is currently at work producing six new episodes for air later next year. Director Ridley Scott talked with MTV about his upcoming Untitled Alien Prequel who revealed a lot about his intentions to tell the earlier story of Alien, in the forthcoming prequel. “As we speak, I’ve got a pile of pages next to me; it’s like the fourth draft,” he tells MTV. “It’s a work in progress, but we’re not dreaming it up anymore.
