In line with Netflix’s two-decade legacy of rom-com shows, the streaming service is eager to present a charming romance story to the couples who enjoy watching them on Valentine’s Day. While several rom-coms were released in 2022, including Falling for Christmas, A Perfect Pairing, and The Royal Treatment, it is time to look ahead to what Netflix has in store for 2023. The next chapter of the Gundam franchise is on its way. Fans have been waiting for the next trailer for The Dark Knight almost since the moment the first one was released. Nic Balthazar has announced plans to remake his foreign film Ben X for American audiences. According to Variety, he would write and direct this stateside adaptation himself. The film chronicles the life of a mildly autistic teen whose quiet school existence contrasts with his wild, warrior persona in the on-line gaming community. His two worlds begin to blur when two school bullies set out to torment him. Balthazar is keen to take on new elements for the American version....

Another season of Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin is on the way. Per Variety, it’s been announced that the series has been officially renewed for season 2. This follows the first season premiering on the NBCUniversal-owned streaming platform on Nov. 23. Featuring Adam Devine reprising his role as Bumper Allen after the character moves to Germany, the series has been a hit with fans of the franchise, setting the record at Peacock as the most-watched comedy premiere in the streamer’s history....

You can bring home the complete violent works of John Rambo home in late May. Rambo: The Complete Collector’s Set will be coming to DVD on May 27th. This set includes all four films: First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rambo III and the newest film Rambo, which will be available individually that day as well. This six-disc set comes in a collectable metal tin, and it will be priced at $54....

Rashida Jones (The Office) has joined the cast of NBC’s untitled comedy starring Amy Poehler. According to Variety, NBC and producers continue to keep a tight lid on the Poehler sitcom, but some details are starting to emerge. Jones is set to play Ann Logan, a nurse whose boyfriend has a strange injury. It’s that injury that leads Jones’ character into the world populated by Poehler and Aziz Ansari (who was the first thesp attached to the project, back when it was still, indeed, an Office spinoff)....

It seems one half of a popular writing team will make his directorial debut with a new action film that has locked in two of its stars. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Richard Gere and Topher Grace have signed on to star in The Double. The film will mark the directorial debut of screenwriter Michael Brandt, who has written such films as Wanted, 3:10 to Yuma and the upcoming summer film The A-Team with writing partner Derek Haas....

According to Home Media Retailing, Lionsgate will soon be beginning a “cross brand” marketing bonanza for their title, Ultimate Avengers: The Movie. This is the companies very first CG offering in partnership with Marvel Enterprises. Featuring such characters Thor, The Incredible Hulk and Captain America this movie (which is based on the Marvel comic series “The Ultimates”) focuses on how these superheroes join forces to fight bad guys. To promote this title Lionsgate will be working with companies like NetZero and Playmates Toys....

Mckenna Grace really came into her own as young lead in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, but before her role as the granddaughter of Egon Spengler she appeared as a young Carol Danvers in 2019’s Captain Marvel. However, while there are plenty of fans who would love to see Grace reprising her role in The Marvels, it looks like there won’t be any flashbacks to Danvers’ childhood this time around. The Marvel’s is set to hit cinemas next summer having completely filming earlier this year, and will see Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel being joined by fellow superheroes Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan aka Ms Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau, who will be getting her own “made up name” in the movie....

Mekhi Phifer is set to guest-star on Lie to Me in a two-episode arc starting Wednesday, May 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Phifer, who begins production today, will play Ben Reynolds, an FBI agent who partners with Lightman to track down a serial rapist terrorizing the Washington, DC area. In the season’s second to last episode, Reynolds, having spent the last six months pursuing the elusive criminal, assists The Lightman Group in solving their toughest case yet....

Warner Bros. is developing a brand new live-action/CGI hybrid movie based on the popular Looney Tunes animated character Pepe Le Pew, with Mike Myers voicing the amorous skunk, according to Vulture. The character was created in 1945 - a skunk perpetually looking for love in pursuit of a cat dubbed Penelope Pussycat, a black cat with a white stripe accidentally painted down her back - appearing in a variety of short films for Warner Bros....

Even though Ridley Scott’s new film is based off a classic board game, it seems it will also deal with current economic hardships as well. MTV Movies Blog recently spoke with Monopoly producer and Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner, who said that the film will be driven by the current state of the economy. “The whole world is about the financial markets,” Goldner said. “You can’t turn on the news today without understanding the financial markets and what’s going on out there....

Sony’s experiment of putting a panned film back in theaters because of social media pressure has turned out to be a failure. In recent weeks, Marvel fans had been calling for Sony to make a sequel to Morbius despite the film’s underwhelming box office performance and lackluster reviews. As more and more fans jumped onto the movement, Sony seemingly theorized that the newfound attention on Morbius would have people spending money to see it should it head back to the big screen....
