We reported yesterday that production on the sci-fi sequel Men in Black III has been delayed. A new report today not only confirms the production hiatus, which has been extended until March 28, but reveals the real reason behind the delay. Sony has given director Barry Sonnenfeld the extra time needs to prepare for the third act. Studio executives were impressed by the footage shot from the first act, which was completed late last year before the holiday break....

By now, everyone knows that Michael Cera has taken the lead in Dimension Films adaptation of Youth in Revolt. He will play C.D. Payne’s popular Nick Twisp character. About the film, Cera stated, “I’m very excited to do the movie, it’s my favorite book of all time. And now I won’t have to pay to get my hair cut.” Bob Weinstein is excited about the film, too. He said, “Like the book, Youth in Revolt will be a cutting edge film with lots of laughter....

Michelle Rodriguez, Jennifer Carpenter, Channing Tatum and Tzi Ma have all joined the cast of the ensemble drama, Battle In Seattle. The film stars Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, Ray Liotta, Andre Benjamin and Martin Henderson in Stuart Townsend’s directorial debut; Townsend also wrote the script. Production Weekly says the documentary-style film will focus on a dozen characters swept up in the protests, which brought the World Trade Organization’s meeting to a halt....

Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec have signed on to write the screenplay for Mission: Impossible IV for producers Tom Cruise and J.J. Abrams and Paramount Pictures. According to Variety, the scribes aren’t big feature names yet, but they join a roster of writers who transitioned from Abrams TV series creations to pen the features he directs and produces through his Bad Robot banner. Applebaum and Nemec spent four seasons with Abrams as co-exec producers of Alias, and they will script Mission: Impossible IV based on a story Abrams wrote with them....

The creator of numerous games for cellphones, GameLoft, has now released the official mobile game for NBC’s Heroes. Players will be able to take on the role of Peter Petrelli, Hiro Nakamura, Niki (and Jessica) Sanders and Officer Matt Parkman during the course of the game. Each of the eleven levels will allow the player to take the role of one of the main Heroes, with opportunities to use their unique abilities, and feature locations from the series....

Pixar is pushing the release of its animated prequel Monsters University from November 12, 2012 to June 21, 2013. Disney’s secretive project Reboot Ralph, which was originally set to open March 22, 2013, has been moved to the November 12, 2012 release date. It is said that Reboot Ralph, which tells the tale of an obsolete video game character, is ahead of schedule. It seems the studio wants to launch Monsters University in the summer season, though, which caused the release date shift....

Netflix’s recently released 2022 preview offers audiences their best look yet at Jason Momoa as a fantastical creature in their upcoming comedy adventure flick, Slumberland. The fantasy film is just one of many major releases for the streaming giant Netflix due to delight audiences in their homes in 2022. Directed by Francis Lawrence (Constantine, I Am Legend, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) from a script by David Guion and Michael Handelman, Slumberland is based on the comic book series “Little Nemo in Slumberland” from 1905 by Winsor McCay....

Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming talk show The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale, while the streaming service has also revealed Joel McHale’s first guests. The new weekly series launches Sunday, February 18 on Netflix with guest Kevin Hart and appearances by Alison Brie, Mike Colter, Paul Reiser, Jodie Sweetin and Jim Rash. Netflix has also released the first poster and photos from this talk show, which is pretty much just a rip-off of E!...

Last week we reported that Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller tweeted the news that Friday the 13th Part 2 in 3D was “dead” and today he elaborated on the sequel’s demise in more than 140 characters. Bloody-Disgusting recently spoke with Fuller who talked more about why the sequel isn’t happening. Fuller also spoke to Bloody-Disgusting about several of their future projects in development, including Monster Squad and The Birds. “Right now it’s not happening,” Fuller told Bloody Disgusting....

The Hollywood community is in mourning once again, after the passing of a TV legend. Judge Joseph A. Wapner, who served as the judge and star of the hit syndicated TV series The People’s Court, died Sunday at the age of 97, at his home in Los Angeles. The judge’s son David confirmed his death yesterday, with the judge passing away in his sleep Associated Press broke the news yesterday, revealing that Judge Wapner had been hospitalized a week ago for breathing problems and he had since been in hospice care....

Although the film still hasn’t hit theaters yet, there is high-def talk for the X-Files film, as well as it’s predecessor. According to producer Frank Spotnitz’s blog on the official The X-Files: I Want to Believe website, Blu-Ray releases are being planned for both the new film and the original The X-Files film. “We are working on packing the DVD and Blu-Ray DVD releases with as many extras as they will fit, including video and audio commentaries, behind-the-scenes footage, bloopers, trailers, a new documentary, and several other cool surprises – including a look at all those photos Chris took....

The CW has revealed the official first look at Powerpuff, the upcoming live-action reboot of The Powerpuff Girls. Recently, some photos and images taken from the set provided a sneak peek at the three lead characters with filming on the series now underway. Now, the network has gone the extra step of providing an official reveal of the characters, showing off Chloe Bennet as Blossom, Dove Cameron as Bubbles, and Yana Perrault as Buttercup....

Actor, comedian, and filmmaker Randall Park is back with his directorial debut film, Shortcomings, a comedy that takes on the topic of representation in Hollywood and the Asian American film industry. The film opens with a parody of the hit film Crazy Rich Asians, starring Ronnie Chieng and Stephanie Hsu. Park’s film follows the story of Ben, a struggling Japanese American filmmaker, who is asked for his opinion on the film by the director....

All good things, even beloved regular things, must come to an end. After a tremendous run on Cartoon Network, Regular Show is calling it quits. The upcoming eighth season of the show, which will air later this month, was confirmed by the network and the creators to be its final. Cartoon Network announced on Tuesday that Regular Show would be ending after more than 250 episodes. The network took to their Twitter account to announced that the final season would be going by the title Regular Show In Space, to coincide with the cliffhanger from last season....

Mike Allred’s undead superhero Madman may be nearing readiness for it’s adaptation to the screen. In an interview with Newsarama, Allred spoke about the status of the flm. Allred said: We’re on what I hope will be the final polish of the screenplay. Some of the notes we got back have been addressed, and have been very useful to where the screenplay is much stronger. Now, we’re concerned there might be a Screen Actors Guild strike!...

We reported last month that director Brett Ratner was no longer going to be at the helm of the new Conan remake, but now it seems a new director has been found. According to CHUD, Marcus Nispel (Friday the 13th) will be directing Conan. It was said that an August start date was set when Ratner was on board, but it’s not clear if they still aim to get the film rolling by then, especially since no cast members have been attached as of yet....

It’s undebatable to say that the MCU is one of the most influential franchises of all time. It has produced nearly unfathomable numbers at the box office while also succeeding at culminating material from over two-dozen feature films into one single cinematic masterpiece. It’s something that has never been done before and will likely only ever be done again by the post-Endgame MCU. Regardless of how audiences and critics might feel about the superhero juggernauts, another undebatable dispute is that the MCU has been able to get some of the most prolific and seasoned actors/actresses to appear in their movies....
