With its iconic skyline, familiar streets and bustling, densely populated boroughs, it is no wonder that so many movies and TV shows choose New York City as their setting. Whether it is gangsters, aliens, lost children, crime waves or superheroes, they all seem to end up taking the city as their playground for two to three hours, leading to widescale on-screen destruction and races against time to save the world. To flesh that point out a little further, so far, just under half of the movies and TV shows set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have centered on stories set in New York, from The Incredible Hulk in 2008 all the way through to Spider-Man: Now Way Home, which set its finale on the staple location of the Statue of Liberty....

Nathan Fielder is one of the most fascinating figures in the modern media landscape. Between 2013 and 2017, he was the creative force behind the television series Nathan For You. On the show, Fielder sought out struggling businesses and offered up his “business expertise,” which consisted of him concocting strange and silly marketing ploys. Though these ridiculous projects brought about many hilarious situations, he never once broke character, leading audiences to wonder whether or not Fielder was acting at all....

Variety reports that Nazanin Boniadi (CW’s The Game) has booked a supporting role in Iron Man. Boniadi joins Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges, Shaun Toub, Leslie Bibb, Bill Smitrovich, Nazanin Boniadi in the superhero film, directed by Jon Favreau. Based on the long-running Marvel comic book series, Iron Man tells the story of Tony Stark, the enigmatic heir to the Stark Enterprises fortune. A driven inventor and executive who seems to have it all, Tony is haunted by his dark side....

After years of wandering the seemingly endless corridors of development purgatory, Walt Disney Studios has confirmed the process is underway to unearth The Graveyard Book – a 2008 young adult novel by Neil Gaiman. The Graveyard Book follows the lonely and often dangerous exploits of Nobody “Bod” Owens. Saved from certain death as an infant, Bod grows up playing between the tombs of a long-neglected graveyard. Over the years, he learns to read, write, and understand the world under the careful tutelage of paternal ghosts and a somber vampire guardian named Silas....

Netflix, the world’s leading Internet television network, and The CW Network, a joint venture between CBS Corporation and Warner Bros. Entertainment, announced today a new multi-year content licensing relationship that allows Netflix to remain the exclusive U.S. subscription television service for previous seasons of scripted series broadcast on The CW. The new relationship spans all current CW series, as well as all future programs produced for the network during the term of the new agreement, which begins with the just-completed 2015-2016 broadcast season....

According to a recent analysis, the streaming service Netflix will have spent a total of over $12 billion on original content in 2018 by the end of the year. This is greater than any other movie studio this year, only proving how much Netflix is dominating in the movie and TV business right now. Starting as a DVD rental business, Netflix has grown incredibly as a company over the years, earning massive amounts of revenue and becoming one of the most powerful players in Hollywood today....

With the adaptation of Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, Netflix has a monumental task on its hands. The show, which ran from 2005 to 2008, was one of the most beloved and celebrated animated series of all time. Avatar bolsters a 9.3 on IMDb, placing it in the 8th spot in the top 250 shows of all time. The story follows a war-torn world of elemental magic and a young boy frozen in ice for over 100 years, who suddenly reawakens to undertake a dangerous mystic quest to fulfill his destiny as the Avatar, and bring peace to the world....

In advance of the Season 2 premiere of Masters of Sex on Sunday, July 13th at 10 p.m. ET/PT, Showtime has released the full-length trailer for the critically-acclaimed hit series. Masters of Sex stars Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan and chronicles the unusual lives, romance and pop culture trajectory of real-life pioneers of the science of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson. The Pitch Perfect trilogy was a franchise that embodied the themes of sisterhood in a college a cappella group who later transcended their bond into adulthood. Peacock’s Pitch Perfect spinoff, Bumper In Berlin, has Bumper Allen as the central character, someone who barely resonated as an antagonist or even an integral supporting character throughout the first two Pitch Perfect films. If there was going to be a spinoff from Pitch Perfect, it could have followed someone who had a deeper involvement in the plot or with the movie’s central characters....

Rian Johnson and Natasha Lyonne have teamed up for a new case-of-the-week series premiering next month. The Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery filmmaker serves as writer, director, and producer of Poker Face, which stars Lyonne as Charlie Cale. Cale travels around the country solving murders equipped with a special gift: she knows exactly when someone is lying to her. The series will also feature an impressive list of guest stars like Joseph Gordon Levitt, Adrien Brody, Nick Nolte, Chloë Sevigny, Ellen Barkin, Tim Meadows, Jameela Jamil, and Lil Rel Howery, among others....

Red Rose is a British horror drama and was released on August 15th. Available on BBC iPlayer and coming to Netflix, the show seemed to have some fans terrified and unable to sleep the minute of its release, and has been scaring some of the mobile phone users that are brave enough to watch it. The show may be from the same producers of comedic show, Sex Education, but this drama is far from anything like a fun teen show....
