MTV caught up with director Shawn Levy and Ben Stiller from the upcoming action-adventure comedy Night at the Museum. They briefly spoke about the film which is currently filming that will reunite old friends Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. The movie centers on a clueless security team dealing with cursed displays that come to life. “I’m just gonna go for the shock and awe of all the famous names that I could throw at you,” laughed director Shawn Levy recently....

Our first look at the upcoming comedy movie Paint reveals Owen Wilson like we’ve never seen him before. Clearly inspired by the story of late artist Bob Ross, the film stars Wilson as a television painter hosting a public TV show in Vermont whose livelihood is threatened when a younger painter comes into the picture. As reported by Deadline, the film was acquired by IFC Films for a North American release, finally bringing the project to life after the screenplay first hit The Black List in 2010....

Opera singer Paul Potts is bringing his true-to-life rags to riches story to the big screen with One Chance. According to The Hollywood Reporter, American Idol’s Simon Cowell will produce the film, which is being written by The Bucket List’s Justin Zackham. The project will focus on Pott’s last-ditch effort at having a music career by performing on the television show Britain’s Got Talent. After a string of bad luck, he auditioned for the show in 2007....

PBS has picked up the first season of Wired Science, a production of KCET/Los Angeles in association with Wired Magazine, to premiere nationwide October 3, 2007, at 8 p.m. The 10-week primetime series translates Wired’s award-winning journalism, design and irreverent attitude into a fast-paced, one-hour weekly television show that will span the globe to chronicle the scientific advances and technologies that are transforming the world. The next installment in Disney’s long line of live-action remakes of animated classics is on the way. Peter Pan & Wendy, a reimagining of the 1953 animated film about the boy who wouldn’t grow up, is officially set for release next year. The remake has received renewed attention with the recent release of the official teaser and poster at Disney’s D23 event. Though, unlike other Disney remakes, Peter Pan has already received the live-action treatment....

The VES Awards were given out tonight during the Visual Effects Society’s (VES) fifth annual gala event at the Kodak Grand Ballroom. This year’s event, garnering the best attendance for these events so far, attracted more than eight hundred celebrities, visual effects and animation artists, dozens of nominees and members of the film, television and games industries. “There was some amazing ‘snap, crackle and pop’ effects work on display last night,” said Eric Roth, Executive Director of the VES....

The FX pilot Powers is currently shooting in Chicago, although they recently added a new cast member. Titus Welliver (Lost, Sons of Anarchy) has come aboard Powers to play Triphammer. The character is described as equal parts genius and narcissist, a wealthy and powerful man who has invented a device which can give ordinary people super powers, and take the powers away as well. If FX picks up the pilot to series, Titus Welliver’s Triphammer will be a recurring character....

Peace Arch Entertainment Group Inc. announced that it has begun principal photography in Okanagan, Canada on the feature film Shred, a snowboarding action comedy to be released later this year prior to the start of the 2007-2008 ski and snowboarding season. The beginning of principal photography continues Peace Arch’s business strategy of assembling a diverse annual slate of new film and television programming through in-house production and third-party acquisitions and generating revenues by the worldwide distribution of that content....

JoBlo has revealed that 20th Century Fox is planning on showing the teaser trailer for Live Free or Die Hard this weekend in select theatres. The trailer would run before prints of Blood Diamond - but not all prints. The trailer, of a still undetermined length, will only run before 35mm prints of Blood Diamond with Fox showing a trailer for Pathfinder for digital prints. If this is the case, then it would seem likely that the trailer would be posted on the web sometime early next week....

Disney is gearing up to start production on Lone Ranger in February, and the studio recently issued another casting call which reveals the first synopsis. Take a look at the plot rundown below. The casting call will take place on Sunday, December 11 between 9 AM and 4 PM at Far Horizon Studios in Albuquerque, New Mexico (300 Washington St. SE Suite 304). The production is seeking males with no facial hair, males with a lot of facial hair, females, Native Americans, Asians, and horseback riders....

All good things must come to an end. Such is the case with Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which will officially be concluding its run with season 7. Marvel and ABC had renewed the Marvel series ahead of the season 6 premiere, in a surprising move. But now, just ahead of the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the announcement has been made that Agent Coulson and the rest of the crew will be hanging it up for good next summer....

Although the pilot wrapped production in February, Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. has added J. August Richards to the cast in a secretive role. It isn’t known if the pilot is undergoing additional shooting at this time. While it hasn’t been announced yet, the project is being put on the fast track at ABC, and a series order seems likely. It is possible that the actor does not appear in the pilot, but will be featured in future episodes once a series order is confirmed....
