Rumors about musician Mike Patton’s involvement in the highly anticipated summer sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen were confirmed today by a “close” friend of the singer (who may or may not live in Philadelphia). More of a cameo than a leading robot, Patton will lend his unique vocal talents to Mixmaster, one of the seven Decepticons that form to create Devastator. He is a concrete mixing truck that serves as the left leg of this gigantically awesome robot....

NBC and DirecTV confirmed that Friday Night Lights will be renewed for two more seasons, according to Variety. The new pact covers the show’s fourth and fifth seasons, which will consist of 13 segments apiece. It continues the innovative partnership between the Peacock and the satcaster that saved “FNL” from cancellation this season, the third for the Peabody-winning series revolving around a high school football team in a small Texas town....

Prey may be the Predator movie of the moment, but 35 years ago, the original Predator arrived to become a blueprint for many action-filled, testosterone-fueled blockbuster movies of the late 1980s. Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead role of Dutch, who finds himself pitted against an invisible alien in the jungle as his team is picked off one by one, Predator was a huge hit and another memorable role for Schwarzenegger, but according to producer John Davis, the movie started out as a script that was secretly snuck ‘under somebody’s door” at Fox....

Paramount Pictures announced today that the studio has surpassed $2 billion at the international box office, just 50 days after passing $1 billion on June 10th. The feat marks the second consecutive year in which Paramount has grossed $2 billion at the international box office, achieving the mark on Saturday July 30th, five months earlier than their prior record in 2008. Paramount is the first studio to pass the $2 billion mark in international box office in 2011....

After a brief introduction by Schur the audience was treated to the season finale of the show. Fans of the series know that as of last week the government of the fictional town of Pawnee had been shut down thanks to budget cuts, leaving the jobs of many of our main characters in jeopardy. While we can’t give away too many details about tonight’s finale we can say that it revolves around the cancellation of a children’s concert in the park....

CNN has decided to pull two episodes of Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown that included the chef’s girlfriend, Asia Argento. The removal of the episodes comes as Argento faces allegations of sexual assault. The actress allegedly had sex with actor Jimmy Bennett when he was 17-years old and paid him $380,000 in hush money. Argento claims that it was Bourdain’s idea to pay off Bennett in order to make the whole situation go away....

Many Marvel fans have been celebrating what seems to be the return of Patrick Stewart as Professor X, but let’s not set off the party poppers just yet. In the recent trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a very familiar voice was heard, seemingly of Stewart reprising his X-Men role. Beyond this tease, the actor’s involvement hasn’t been officially confirmed, and both Stewart and Marvel have held back giving an explanation....

The animation film technique is one of the most popular movie categories that requires skill and talent. Pinocchio used stop-motion animation, to portray a musical fantasy adventure. ‘‘It is incredibly, incredibly installed in the minds of a lot of people that are in the movie business that animation is a genre for kids and is not, as a medium, for creation of beauty and film and art,” the filmmaker Guillermo del Toro said, per Collider....

You can finally experience Vin Diesel in his breakout character in high definition this March. Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick will both be available on Blu-ray for the first time on March 31. Each disc will be priced at $29.98 SRP and a two-pack with both films will also be available on that date for $59.98 SRP. The films follow the adventures of Richard B. Riddick, played by Vin Diesel....

Lexi Alexander, director of Punisher: War Zone, has news about the first screening of the film. The director posted an update to her blog, LexiAlexander.com, where she reveals that the screening went well, and that the film has had its release moved to December 5, 2008. Alexander writes: I spoke to Ray Stevenson on the phone a couple of days ago. He is still in New Orleans, playing a Vampire. I wanted to update him on how the director’s cut screening went which he knew was happening on April 1st....
