Lords of Dogtown is getting rebooted as a series at IMDb TV. Kat Candler is on board to write and executive produce alongside Shawn Ryan and Marney Hochman of Sony Pictures Television. Catherine Hardwicke, who directed the original movie released in 2005, will also return as an executive producer for the project. Described as a one-hour drama, the Lords of Dogtown TV show is “set in the 1970s skateboarding scene in southern California and centers on a hell-raising teenage girl growing up in the foster care system....
It has been five years since comedian and actor Louis C.K. found himself on the end of a series of sexual assault revelations that saw his self-titled TV series cancelled and the star vanish into obscurity. Michelle Yeoh could have faced off against Uma Thurman in the Kill Bill series, but director Quentin Tarantino had other ideas. Tarantino is a huge fan of Yeoh and even helped her get through a low phase in the ‘90s. Known for appearing on the TLC reality show My 600-lb Life, reality TV personality Sean Milliken has reportedly died. After having breathing problems arising from an apparent infection, Milliken was transported to a Texas hospital where he took a turn for the worse. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, Milliken passed away at the age of 29. TLC has commented on Milliken’s passing in a statement, offering their “deepest sympathies to Sean’s family and friends at this difficult time....
Blake Griffin is making his way from the basketball court to truTV for a brand new prank show. The network has announced that the six-time NBA All-Star will executive produce and star in Double Cross. The story of the infamous anthrax attacks of 2001 will be told in a new Netflix documentary. Called The Anthrax Attacks: In the Shadow of 9/11, the doc blends interviews and scripted reenactments to chronicle the attacks along with the intense FBI investigation into the source of the anthrax. While everyone’s attention is focused on action-packed and gothic Hollywood thrillers, Netflix appears to be continuing the trend of introducing new Korean films in 2023.
