The CW Network announced today that Lindsey Gort has signed on to play Samantha Jones in Season 2 of The Carrie Diaries. Here’s a description of the role, which was originated by Kim Cattrall in HBO’s Sex and the City. The actress joins AnnaSophia Robb, who plays Carrie Bradshaw in the series, along with Katie Findlay, Brendan Dooling, Chloe Bridges, Austin Robert Butler, Freema Agyeman, Matt Letscher, Stefania Owen, Ellen Wong, and Alexandra Miller....

The Sopranos and Goodfellas star Lorraine Bracco is the latest addition to David Henrie’s upcoming family adventure film, Boys of Summer, along with Nora Zehetner (Grey’s Anatomy), Julian Lerner (The Wonder Years), Abby James Witherspoon (Secret Headquarters), and Noah Cottrell (Punky Brewster). Directed by actor-director David Henrie, best known for This is the Year and Wizards of Waverly Place, the film will star quite an ensemble cast, as joining the aforementioned names are Mel Gibson and Mason Thames, as announced earlier....

Marvel and Hulu have made a surprise announcement this evening, revealing the core cast members for the upcoming Runaways TV series. Based on the Marvel comic books of the same name, this title was originally planned as a Phase 1 movie, later getting bumped to Phase 2 before becoming permanently delayed. Now, Marvel and Hulu are collaborating to turn the teen-led property into a streaming series. Marvel shared the official PR on their official site....

Meet the cast of TNT’s Mob City, debuting Wednesday, December 4 at 9 PM ET While most TV shows are getting ready to shut down for their holiday break, TNT is getting ready to roll out its latest series Mob City. The six-episode program from creator Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead) will air two back-to-back episodes on three consecutive Wednesdays, starting with “A Guy Walks Into a Bar” and “Reason to Kill a Man” on December 4 at 9 PM ET....

Screenwriter David Koepp is the latest writer to come aboard Men in Black III, hired to work out certain script issues before production resumes on March 28. Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) wrote the original script for the sequel. We reported back in November that Jeff Nathanson had been hired to rework the script, although a report from last month indicated Etan Cohen was back on the project. Now it seems David Koepp will be working on the script for “several weeks” before production starts....

Millie Bobby Brown quickly became a recognized name in Hollywood, rising to stardom with her role as Eleven on the Netflix series Stranger Things. The 18-year-old actress has played a leading role for four seasons so far, in which we’ve seen a complete transformation in how the character is portrayed on screen. Now, Brown is gearing up for the fifth and final season in the series, which should be the wildest audiences have seen yet....

Running for almost three decades long, with no signs of slowing dowm, the Mission Impossible franchise starring Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt is undoubtedly an enjoyable watch. The six-part series (so far) that first hit the theaters in 1996 with Mission: Impossible has since introduced plenty of characters to take the story forward and bring us new and exciting adventures led. By extension, many actors joined the Mission Impossible franchise along the way....

Netflix is off to the high seas! Earlier today, the service launched a trailer for their upcoming film, The Sea Beast! The trailer and synopsis can be viewed below. The Sea Beast is written and directed by Oscar winner Chris Williams (Moana, Big Hero 6, Bolt). Neil Benjamin, who co-wrote the screenplay, also serves as producer with Jed Schlanger (How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World). Joyce Arrastia (Rise of the Guardians) is credited as editor and the score will be by Mark Mancina (The Lion King, Tarzan, Brother Bear, Moana)....

Netflix, Inc. and NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution today announced an expanded license agreement through which Netflix members can instantly watch a selection of broadcast series from the NBC television network and - for the first time on Netflix - content from some of NBC Universal’s popular cable channels. The multi-year deal kicks off next week and continues the relationship between Netflix and NBC Universal. The agreement adds significantly to the growing selection of movies and TV episodes that can be streamed instantly from Netflix with memberships starting at $8....

Indian-American teen Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) is coming back to our screens soon with a new season of Never Have I Ever. Mindy Kaling’s Netflix series was renewed for a fourth and final season before season 3’s air date was even announced. With the third season’s release date confirmed, fans can start to get excited to see what will happen next for the high schoolers. Knowing the show has a predetermined endpoint means this season could be setting up storylines that they’ll see through for the next two seasons....
