The cast of Ballerina, the first spinoff of the John Wick movie series, is getting stacked. Per Lionsgate, it has just been revealed that Norman Reedus, who will star in his own upcoming spinoff series after eleven seasons of The Walking Dead, has picked up his next big role by joining the cast of Ballerina. The film, which is now in production in Prague, will feature some crossover characters from the previous John Wick movies but with Ana de Armas in the lead role....

Parks and Recreation was an NBC comedy that ran from 2009 to 2015. This sitcom is a political satire mockumentary sitcom with a similar format to The Office. The show follows the activities of mid-level bureaucrat Leslie Knope who works in the Parks Department in Pawnee, Indiana. Created by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur, Parks and Recreation is known for its ensemble cast and its approachable, comedic take on politics. Starz has dropped the official trailer for its Party Down revival. The anticipated third season of the cult comedy debuts next month, with much of its original cast returning. The revival takes place ten years after the original series’ conclusion. This past month, the popular American war film Platoon finally reached its 35th anniversary. As one of the greatest Vietnam War films to ever be made (along with Full Metal Jacket, Apocalypse Now, and We Were Soldiers), the film was initially released back on December 19, 1986. Just recently, Platoon stars Charlie Sheen and John C. McGinley spoke to The Guardian in celebration of the film’s anniversary. Sony’s Screen Gems division has decided on an official title for their fifth Resident Evil installment. Called Resident Evil: Begins, this latest chapter in the long-running franchise will be a reboot that takes the series back to the horror roots of the original video game upon which it is based. Resident Evil: Begins will be set in 1998, before the events of the first film took place. Series star Milla Jovovich will once again portray the character Alice, and we will see her before she became the tough action hero we know today....

Rian Johnson has been hard at work on Knives Out and the upcoming sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. It seems that a new star and director are circling a brand new prequel to The Wizard of Oz. Production Weekly reported on their Twitter feed that Sam Mendes is in talks to direct Oz The Great and Powerful, and that Robert Downey Jr. was in talks to play the Wizard. The only other thing the tweet mentioned was that Mitchell Kapner had written the script. CHUD dug a little deeper and discovered that the project was actually retitled from Kapner’s original project, Brick, which is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz told from the Wizard’s perspective, showing how he came to be the powerful Wizard....

It seems the holiday anthem this past week was “Yippie-Ki-Yay!” Live Free or Die Hard was the top seller and rental in the holiday week ending November 25. The shopping frenzy that is Black Friday was obviously good to John McClane, as his fourth installment outsold two other releases that debuted on the same day. Hairspray finished right behind Live Free or Die Hard on the rental side at #2, but was #3 in sales, behind last week’s top seller, Shrek the Third which dropped to the second spot....

The final season of Locke & Key comes to Netflix next month, and the official trailer has been released along with the official key art. This year marks the 60th anniversary of James Bond’s cinematic contributions to the world, and fans may be shocked to learn just what author Ian Fleming had in mind for the martini-loving spy. Thanks to a recent unearthing of a long-lost 150-page Moonraker script written by Ian Fleming, 007 fans can now know how the creator wanted to pitch and have his only screenplay adapted into a feature film. Written in 1956 and shortly after the book was published, it was discovered in England and had two characters conspicuously absent....

The upcoming horror movie M3GAN may not be a total gorefest if its PG-13 rating is any indication, but its filmmakers are standing by it. Previously, it was reported that M3GAN had been rated PG-13 for “violent content and terror, some strong language, and a suggestive reference.” Because there seems to be a portion of horror fans uninterested in seeing anything less than an R rating, however, there have been some who’ve already written off seeing M3GAN in January....

These tragedies sadly persist, perhaps to a greater extent, more than four years later. It’s such a threat in today’s society that “warning” title cards were edited into recent shows that depict similar tragedies, such as Stranger Things and Queer as Folk. More of Loot is on the way at Apple TV+. On Monday, it was announced (via Deadline) that the streaming platform had officially put in the order for a second season of the comedy series. Created by Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, the show stars Maya Rudolph, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Joel Kim Booster, Ron Funches, Stephanie Styles, and Nat Faxon. It premiered on Apple TV+ in June with the season finale set to hit the streamer on July 15....

We just might see Mayim Bialik stick around as Alex Trebek’s successor. Ever since Trebek passed away following a cancer battle in 2020, the search for his replacement has proven to be incredibly difficult. A series of celebrity guest hosts were brought in to allow the producers time to find a suitable host, and by the end of it, executive producer Mike Richards controversially announced he’d be hosting Jeopardy! full time with Bialik hosting primetime specials and spinoffs....
