After the worst debacle in The Asylum’s growing history, “Hillside Cannibals”, it was high time for a really GOOD movie to come flooding out of The Asylum’s doors just to wash the taste of that reprehensible slop out of our collective mouths. And indeed, The Asylum delivers by letting Leigh Scott take the reins completely on a new project, Bram Stoker’s Dracula’s Curse. The more I see out of Leigh Scott, the more I’m convinced that he’s an absolute genius....

DVFrUGIIODwZKI I’m always at least kind of interested to get my hands on foreign horror. And that Ghost House thought it worth including in their Ghost House Underground collection makes it doubly worth note. Ghost House Underground, so far, has not been a huge disappointment. Oh, sure, there are no big standout titles yet, and frankly, Brotherhood of Blood was not my first choice for fun Friday night viewing, but then I personally have a problem with vampire movies anyway, especially those that act like they’re just huge LARPs and everyone wants to play freaking Clan Ventrue....

In the wake of the Mexican presidential election debachle, I will let you know I had nothing to do with the craziness when I visited the set of Resident Evil: Extinction last week in Mexico City. I even had the chance to re-live another movie experience - I stayed at the Camino Real Hotel, the same hotel where they shot The Matador starring Pierce Brosnan and Greg Kinnear. But back on the set of Resident Evil 3, I spoke with the star Milla Jovavich, who looked smokin’ hot in her costume of a white tank top, a half way cut brown vest, and very short shorts....

Christmas is arriving early to Netflix and it’s bringing Lindsay Lohan back into the acting scene with her latest film Falling for Christmas which was released on the streaming platform on November 10 and quickly rose to the privileged number one spot of the most viewed films in the United States. Falling for Christmas is Janeen Damian’s directorial debut. The film follows Sierra Belmont (Lindsay Lohan), a young, newly engaged hotel heiress who has never done any work in her entire lifetime and needless to say, is used to being pampered at all times....

We are only two days removed from the shocking news that Spider-Man 4 was canceled and the frachise will be rebooted, and it seems there’s a front-runner for the new director. Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb is the front-runner to direct the reboot. The site is reporting that Webb had already met with Sony execs about the film, which they hope to start production on later this year for a summer 2012 release, in 3-D....

Marvel Entertainment, Inc., SEGA Europe Ltd and SEGA of America, Inc. have expanded their relationship to include the rights to develop and distribute games inspired by Marvel’s Hall-of-Fame franchises – Captain America, The Incredible Hulk and Thor. Through the exclusive, multi-year global licensing agreement, SEGA will create titles for console, handheld and PC platforms based upon both the classic comic books and planned feature film adaptations of these world-renowned Super Heroes....

Netflix continues to prove it’s an unstoppable streaming force that wants to fully overtake all of entertainment with its epic NYCC presentation this weekend. While we previously saw the big trailer releases for Daredevil Season 3 and new horror series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina before the con got underway, they saved something huge for the day of the panel. Sadly, we do not get to see the first footage from The Umbrella Academy released online....

Silicon Valley Season 5 doesn’t premiere until March 25th, but HBO has just released a new trailer featuring a 2-minute look into what we can expect from the Pied Piper crew, minus T.J. Miller. This will be the first season to not include Miller as Erlich Bachman and if the trailer is any indication, they’re doing just fine without him. Miller left the popular HBO show to focus on his standup comedy career and to launch into Hollywood with the Emoji Movie....

There has been some confusion swirling around Ridley Scott’s next project, Nottingham, and Ridley Scott has cleared some of it up, starting with a new title. According to MTV Movies Blog, Ridley Scott has revealed that his new film Nottingham will now be changed to simply Robin Hood. “Oh yes, I think we are just going to call it Robin Hood,” Scott told the site. “We start in almost 2 months....

Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies and Universal Pictures are bringing On Golden Pond to select cinemas nationwide for a special limited engagement, which includes exclusive insights from TCM. Henry Fonda, brilliant as Norman Thayer Jr, angry about being 80 and losing his faculties - Katharine Hepburn, his fine all devoted wife who shared his summers at their Maine lakefront home - and the alienated daughter, played by Jane Fonda. The 1981 Universal Pictures release was adored by the critics, garnering Oscars for Henry Fonda for Best Actor, Katharine Hepburn of Best Actress, and Best Screenplay for Ernest Thompson....

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker star Oscar Isaac has stated that he would be open to returning to a galaxy far, far away. Speaking on SiriusXM, Isaac said that he would be open to “anything” Star Wars related so long as there the story was worth doing, and had a worthy director at the helm. Isaac entered the world of Star Wars back in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, playing hot-shot flyer Poe Dameron, a high-ranking X-wing fighter pilot of the Resistance....

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Pierce Brosnan has filed an emergency temporary restraining order against a 55-year-old woman who he claims has allegedly been living out of her car, parked outside his Malibu beach home. The situation got to the point where the James Bond actor had to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department twice to try and remove the woman from his property. In the filing, Brosnan says, “she has been stalking me and my family,” and is asking a judge for protection not only for himself, but for his wife Keely, and his two sons Dylan and Paris....

Deadline reports that Dimension Films has hired Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (Saw 3D) to write Piranha 3DD, a sequel to last summer’s Piranha 3D, with John Gulager aboard to directing. The move will reunite all three from the 2006 Dimension monster thriller Feast. Dimension is moving fast to get the sequel into theaters by August of 2011. The writers will have to turn in a draft within the next four weeks to make this ambitious release date....

There have been plenty of fan theories as to how Prey 2 could continue the latest Predator story, but according to director Dan Trachtenberg none have them have come up with the idea he considers the best. Trachtenberg has made it clear that he would love to continue his journey in the world of the green-blooded alien, and he has plenty of ideas to work with. Although, Prey could have certainly performed well in cinemas, it had to settle for a streaming premier of Hulu and Disney+, but it became the biggest Hulu premier in the platform’s history which certainly counted for something....

Horror is a genre that is, at least until recently, often overlooked. There is an idea that the stories that belong to the genre are silly due to the overuse of gross special effects and unbelievable circumstances. However, horror has been a genre especially conducive to exploring and exposing real-life fears for a very long time. One of the best earlier examples is the 1956 film, The Invasion of the Body Snatchers....

Fox Atomic has halted production of the Revenge of the Nerds remake. The studio says Emory University in Atlanta, where the film was shooting, balked at the raunchy nature of the project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the $12.5 million film, from director Kyle Newman, had only been shooting for two weeks, and while Atomic still is assessing the losses on the project, the studio indicated that all members of the production team had been paid to date for their time....

The popular TV show, Riverdale, is returning for its seventh and final season, and fans are excited to see what the crew has in store for them. In a recent social media post, series creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa gave viewers a sneak peek of a character introduction for the upcoming season. In the caption, he mentioned that the team is working on creating something “truly special” for this year....
