As Quentin Tarantino’s directorial debut, Reservoir Dogs serves as a fantastic baseline for the remainder of his films that would follow with just as much praise. It’s been years since Rian Johnson’s Star Wars trilogy was announced; however, work on the films has been inching along at a plodding pace. Johnson first dove into the galaxy far, far away in 2017 with Star Wars: Episode VIII -The Last Jedi, which was perhaps the most divisive entry in the long-running franchise. Nevertheless, there is still quite a bit of excitement surrounding his involvement with Star Wars, and fans have eagerly anticipated any news they could get from Johnson....

Dimension Films has signed a two-picture deal with writer-director Rob Zombie, according to Variety. Andy Gould, Zombie’s longtime manager and producing partner, has boarded both projects as producer. The pact comes as Dimension and distributor partner MGM prepare to release Zombie’s Halloween nationwide this weekend. Per the terms of the two-picture deal, Zombie will write and direct both titles, although Dimension didn’t release any further details about the projects, including whether they would be horror films....

Robert Downey Jr. is a busy guy, with his latest film Tropic Thunder set to release this week, and having the title roles for both Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes, and returning to the character of Tony Stark in Iron Man 2, the sequel to this summer’s blockbuster. Downey was speaking to the Chicago Sun Times when he dropped some hints about what to expect from both Iron Man 2 and Sherlock Holmes....

Warner Bros. Pictures have unveiled the first teaser trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming film, Lady in the Water, starring Paul Giamatti, Bryce Dallas Howard, Freddy Rodriguez, Jeffrey Wright, Bob Balaban, Sarita Choudhury, Mary Beth Hurt, Cindy Cheung and Joe Reitman. In Lady in the Water, a story originally conceived by Shyamalan for his children, a modest building manager named Cleveland Heep (Paul Giamatti) rescues a mysterious young woman (Bryce Dallas Howard) from danger and discovers she is actually a narf, a character from a bedtime story who is trying to make the treacherous journey from our world back to hers....

Mark Millar couldn’t be more pleased with the way that Wanted is shaping up, as he is more than willing to attest to. Over on the comic writer’s official forum, Millar spoke about the direction that the film is going in. Like James McAvoy said [at] Wondercon, I saw the movie two weeks back and thought it was spectacular. It’s changed again from the shooting script as they refine and refine it, but every draft has been closer to the book and about 70% of the movie is now from the graphic novel....

Way back in 2013, Netflix and Marvel announced they were joining forces to create four new superhero TV shows, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, with all of these characters coming together in the miniseries The Defenders. At the time, the streaming service claimed that all four shows and the miniseries would debut in 2015, but that didn’t happen, with only two of the shows, Daredevil and Jessica Jones debuting last year....

HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon is preparing to take flight. It has been announced that Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One), Emma D’Arcy (Wanderlust), and Matt Smith (Dr. Who) will lead the long-awaited new series, along with some other familiar faces that have yet to be announced. Greg Yaitanes (Banshee) will serve as a director and co-exec producer, with Clare Kilner (Snowpiercer) and Geeta V. Patel (The Witcher) attached to direct more episodes....

A new report suggests that the new streaming service combining HBO Max and Discovery+ services will likely be titled “Max.” According to CNBC, people familiar with the matter have said that the lawyers belonging to Warner Bros. Discovery are vetting the proposed name. Though the likely choice, executives haven’t finalized the decision yet and it might still change. This information comes from sources who asked not to be named due to the discussions being private....

The director of an immensely popular action franchise has confirmed we won’t have to wait as long for the third film in the series. Director Michael Bay annnounced on his official website that Transformers 3 has now been confirmed for a summer 2011 release. Here’s the director’s statement on his website, which included a note to Megan Fox as well. It was reported earlier this year that Bay had planned to take a break in between Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers 3, originally stating that he would prep for a 2012 release of Transformers 3....

Director Michael Bay and writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are teaming up once again bringing sci-fi author’s Whitley Strieber forthcoming novel, 2012: The War for Souls for Warner Bros. Pictures. According to The Hollywood Reporter, talks are in the preliminary stages, but it is known that Bay intends to direct, while Orci and Kurtzman will produce via their company Kurtzman/Orci. Strieber’s story centers on an academic researcher who discovers that multiple versions of Earth co-exist in different dimensions, but all are threatened by an apocalypse to occur in 2012 prophesied by the ancient Mayans....

Like most of you guys out there, one of my favorite current TV shows is Netflix and director David Fincher’s stellar serial killer series Mindhunter. The show already has plans for a third season but today we’re hearing that it is being placed on hold while Fincher works on his new Netflix biography Mank starring The Dark Knight Rises and Bram Stoker’s Dracula actor Gary Oldman and Mean Girls and Mamma Mia!...

ABC has picked up a full season of new drama Nashville, it was announced today. Nashville joins previously announced full season orders for new comedy The Neighbors and returning drama series Scandal. Nashville airs Wednesday nights at 10:00 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
