Netflix will bring its star-studded comedy series Murderville to the streaming service next month, and some first look photos have been revealed. Starring Will Arnett as a detective who must solve a murder in every episode, each mystery will bring in a different celebrity guest to serve as his temporary partner on the case. The catch is that none of the actors are given a script, and it will be up to them to solve the mystery all while remaining in character....

Netflix is doubling down on its anti-censorship stance and is openly warning its employees that if they don’t support the content, they should find a new place to work. Netflix recently updated its corporate culture memo and added some new guidelines for the employees. Titled Netflix Culture – Seeking Excellence, the memo has kept the streamer’s core principles intact but urges the workers to make wise, long-term decisions and be more judicious in their expenditures, among other directives....

The cat may be out of the bag about the second secret Suicide Squad TV series James Gunn has been working on. According to reports by Deadline, Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller, the mind behind all of the Suicide Squad’s screen missions, is getting her own spin-off TV show at HBO Max, following in the footsteps of John Cena’s Peacemaker. It is thought that Davis is in talks to star in the series and executive produce as well, with Christal Henry, best known for being a scribe on the Watchmen series, will write and executive produce the show....

It’s the time of year when all the big critics groups start announcing their ‘Best of 2008’ lists. I have the distinct honor of being in the New York Film Critics Online (NYFCO). Our membership is pretty diverse, so (hopefully) we’re not as elitist as the print and broadcast folks. Think of crowded, smoke-filled rooms with seedy characters arguing film…and you would have the completely wrong idea. We met at the austere Walter Reade Gallery in Lincoln Center and weren’t too contentious at all this year....

HBO has debuted the first trailer for the five-part mini-series Parade’s End, which debuts with “Episode 1” and “Episode 2” airing back-to-back on Tuesday, February 26 at 9 PM ET. Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Star Trek Into Darkness) stars as Christopher, a British aristocrat who gets caught up in a torrid love triangle with his unfaithful wife (Rebecca Hall) and a fearless young woman (Adelaide Clemens). After playing the part of a brilliant lawyer to perfection for six seasons of Better Call Saul, actor Patrick Fabian will next take on the role of the District Attorney of Gotham City. It was recently announced (per THR) that Fabian is among the voice cast members of the upcoming animated movie Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham. Fabian provides the voice of the iconic supervillain Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face, one of the Dark Knight’s most well-known adversaries....

We finally have our first look at the upcoming Disney live action remake of Peter Pan courtesy of an exciting new teaser from Disney+. Titled Peter Pan & Wendy, the brief footage gives us a glimpse of Black Widow star Ever Anderson as Wendy Darling and Alexander Molony as Peter Pan. Twitter is becoming more and more of an instant news source nowadays, and if you are looking for any up-to-the-minute announcements concerning your favorite movies, you only need to look here. Production Weekly has used the site to announce that director Nimrod Antal will start shooting the 20th Century Fox “reboot” Predators on September 28th. Just in case you were worried it wasn’t really happening. Antal will be lensing this fifth film in the Predator franchise at Robert Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios, with Rodriguez overseeing the project as a producer....

Stephen Amell posted a picture on social media that has sparked rumors about the cast of Smallville making an appearance in the Arrowverse “Elseworlds” crossover. The CW’s big event is only a few weeks away, and DC fans are beginning to get pretty pumped, with a storyline that features alternate realities. We’ve already seen a Smallville tease with a picture of Tyler Hoechlin’s Clark Kent and Elizabeth Tulloch’s Lois Lane on the same Kent Farm that the original show used, but it looks like that may have only been the start....

The Reno 911! squad is all back together as seen in our first sneak peek at the Quibi revival of the comedy series. After airing for six seasons on Comedy Central, Reno 911! came to an end in 2009, and at the time, it appeared that would be the last we’d ever see of television’s most hilarious police officers. It has since been revealed the entire cast would be reuniting for a revival series on the new streaming service Quibi, which is soon set to arrive with a launch set for April of this year....

Among the many celebrity cameos in Glass Onion, beloved actor Hugh Grant’s appearance as the partner of Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc is one that gained a lot of attention from audiences. While the appearance was short, Grant’s turn had many fans questioning whether they would see more of the character in Knives Out 3. Writer-director Rian Johnson has now addressed the possibility of Grant reprising his role in a greater capacity in the third movie in the franchise....

The BBC original comedy Life’s Too Short, which aired in the States on HBO, is not being renewed for a second season. Instead, HBO has commited to a one-off special that will wrap up the series. Life’s Too Short is Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s third mockumentary sitcom, following the very successful British version of The Office, and Extras, both of which cast Ricky Gervais in a headlining role. Life’s Too Short was the first to break away from this structure, with the comedian starring as himself against diminutive character actor Warwick Davis, who first made it big in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, went onto have a lead role in Willow, and was last seen playing multiple characters in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2....

The Munsters premiered on Netflix earlier this year courtesy of filmmaker Rob Zombie, and immediately sparked controversy from not just fans of the classic 1960s sitcom, but admirers of Zombie’s other movies as well. As his first PG venture into family-friendly entertainment, Zombie’s take on the beloved series was met with a mixture of praise and backlash. The passion project aimed to pay homage to the original series while modernizing it for a new generation of viewers....

Russell Crowe is in talks to portray Jor-El in the Warner Bros. superhero reboot Man of Steel. Producer Christopher Nolan has been seeking a top-flight talent for the pivotal role. Sean Penn and Clive Owen were also contenders for the part of Jor-El, which Russell Crowe ultimately won. Jor-El is the biological father of Clark Kent/Superman (Henry Cavill), a role previously portrayed by Marlon Brando in Richard Donner’s original Superman in 1978....

Fans of 2009’s The Collector and its 2012 sequel The Collection rejoiced at the news of a third installment. Like the first two installments, it was set to be directed by Marcus Dunstan, who also co-wrote each film with Patrick Melton. Unfortunately for the fans, production on The Collected shut down back in 2019, leaving fans to wonder whether or not they’ll ever get to see the movie. The Collector, not to be confused with the John Fowles novel of the same name and its film adaption, began life under the title of The Midnight Man....

Matthew Goode plays Ozymandias in Zack Snyder’s upcoming adaptation of Watchmen. Yet despite taking the role of one of comics most convoluted characters, the actor revealed to HollywoodChicago.com that he was unaware of the popularity of the comic when the script came his way. “I was not aware of the popularity of the comic when I received the script,” Goode says. “I was was just blown away by the scope of the story and was intrigued by the character they wanted me to play....

Prometheus is being called both an Alien prequel and a spin-off, though for the time being, Ridley Scott is calling it neither. While it will have ties to the world of Alien, Scott says that this is a whole different story. Actor Michael Fassbender has come forward with some new details on this upcoming sci-fi epic, shedding some light on what Prometheus is exactly. He also nonchalantly confirmed that he will be playing an Android in the upcoming movie....
