After unsuccessfully attempting to block the release of Jackass Forever in theaters, PETA is calling upon all filmgoers to join them in their boycott of the film. The upcoming movie, which serves as the fourth (and likely final) installment of the Jackass movie series, brings back Johnny Knoxville and the gang to carry out an array of wildly dangerous stunts. MAJOR SPOILERS for Black Adam to follow. Black Adam is unlikely to be the last time we see Pierce Brosnan’s scene-stealing DC superhero, Doctor Fate. Speaking with USA Today, Brosnan revealed that he had been told by producer Beau Flynn that “not everything is as it seems” when it comes to Doctor Fate’s, well, fate at the end of Black Adam. It is not unusual for the star of a comic book movie to not know exactly what the plans are for their character, but considering how well-received Brosnan’s Doctor Fate has been since the release of Black Adam, it would be a big surprise if plans were not already being drawn up for his return....

In May, we reported that screenwriter Terry Rossio’s script was completed for Pirates of the Caribbean 5. Last week, producer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed that the Pirates of the Caribbean 5 screenplay will be rewritten, although it wasn’t known if the producer was seeking a new writer, or if he was sticking with Terry Rossio. A representative from Jerry Bruckheimer Films reached out to us today, clarifying that Terry Rossio is in fact the sole screenwriter on Pirates of the Caribbean 5....

The highly-anticipated Disney film Tron Legacy is still set for release on December 17 and it seems that the studio sought out some help when it came to reshoots last month. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Brad Bird and Toy Story 3 screenwriter Michael Arndt were brought on to write pages for the reshoots of Tron: Legacy. The site is reporting that director Joseph Kosinski brought an early cut of the film up to Pixar in March and after the screening, Disney hired both Bird and Arndt to write new pages for the reshoots, which took place last month....

The late Sean Flynn, son of the Hollywood icon Errol Flynn, is coming to life in the biopic Flynn, a project developed by Ralph Hemecker’s Mythic Pictures along with Millennium. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hemecker will direct and co-write the screenplay with Perry Deane Young, who also wrote the book on which Flynn will be based. The movie will serve as a biopic of Sean Flynn, a photojournalist who disappeared in the Cambodian jungle in 1970 and was never heard from again....

It seems that Reba still can’t shake Barbra Jean all these years later. Reba McEntire and her former Reba co-star Melissa Peterman are reuniting for Lifetime’s The Hammer, a crime drama inspired by the life of traveling circuit judge Kim Wanker. Deadline reports that McEntire will serve as an executive producer on the film, her second collaboration with Lifetime after last year’s Reba McEntire’s Christmas in Tune. McEntire will star as Kim “The Hammer” Wheeler, one of the last traveling judges left in America....

According to Variety, Relativity and Universal will be teaming up to release Sanctum. The film is an underwater 3-D drama that is supported by James Cameron. The companies have agreed to dole out an “$11.5 million minimum guarantee to distribute in North America, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.” The film will be released under the Rogue label through its distribution arrangement with Universal. The film will have a 2,000-screen domestic rollout....

Robert Downey Jr. is considered by many to be one of the finer actors working today, but he confessed that he worried that his past history of drug abuse might have kept him from playing Tony Stark in the upcoming Iron Man. Speaking to topnews.in, the actor admitted his fears. “I’d never had an opportunity to do something like this that I thought could be so good and with the right people,” Downey said....

Buena Vista Home Entertainment’s Season 2 set of Lost debuted at No. 1 on the national DVD sales chart for the week ending Sept. 10, beating Universal Studios’ acclaimed docudrama United 93, which came in at No. 2, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Lost” is believed to be only the second TV-DVD set to snag the top spot on VideoScan’s First Alert chart in its first week in stores. CSI: Vegas might have lost its legacy stars from season 1, but another big name will be filling the void with her return in the second season. Deadline reports that Marg Helgenberger has now officially signed on to reprise her CSI role as Catherine Willows in CSI: Vegas following prior reports that she was in negotiations. TNT is ordering a second helping of its hit series Memphis Beat, starring Jason Lee (My Name Is Earl) and Alfre Woodard (Three Rivers). TNT has ordered 10 episodes for the second season of the series, which also stars DJ Qualls (Hustle & Flow). The show is slated to return in 2011. Memphis Beat premiered June 22 and quickly established itself as one of the summer’s hottest shows. In its first season, Memphis Beat averaged 4....

NBC Sports and Championship Off Road Racing (CORR) have extended their partnership through 2009; it was announced today by Jon Miller, Executive Vice President, NBC Sports and Jim Baldwin, CORR series owner. NBC Sports has increased its commitment to CORR by six and a half hours per year, agreeing to air nine, 90-minute programs for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. “We are extremely pleased with the response from our audience in the first year of NBC Sports’ broadcasts of CORR,” said Miller....
