The Simpsons may never be the same again. After 28 seasons and nearly 600 episodes, composer Alf Clausen has been fired from the long-running animated series by Fox. The network has been working on cutting costs for The Simpsons in recent years and it looks like Clausen’s firing is just the latest in a series of moves designed to trim the budget for the show. Variety broke the news that Alf Clausen, who has been nominated for 21 Emmys and won two for his work on The Simpsons, was fired by the producers ahead of the upcoming season....

Twist-loving filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan is taking a rare step outside of the PG-13 rating with his next feature film. Knock at the Cabin, a psychological horror helmed by Shyamalan that comes to theaters in February, has officially been rated R. The rating is for “violence and language,” which makes sense given the genre and what we know about the plot, though the rating may still be a bit surprising for fans, as it will be the first time in 15 years that Shyamalan has released a rated R film....

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Letitia Wright has responded to the idea of her character Shuri taking on the mantle of the Black Panther following the death of T’Challa. Speaking with Empire, Wright played things coy when discussing the idea of becoming the new Black Panther in the upcoming sequel, calling the subject “tricky” before revealing that she has known all along that donning the vibranium suit could be on the horizon....

Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was a completely different story than Phase Four is now. Will Mindhunter ever get a third season on Netflix? That still remains unclear more than two years after the second season arrived, but many of those involved are still hoping the show comes back for more new episodes. In why almost seems like a plot from a TV show itself, Natalie Portman and Moses Ingram’s Apple TV+ series Lady in the Lake has been forced to halt and relocate filming after the production was threatened with violence and extortion by Baltimore locals. The miniseries was announced back in March 2021, and filming was underway on the adaptation of Laura Lippman’s 2019 novel about an aspiring investigative journalist who attempts to discover the truth about the death of a young activist....

The Avatar team had some exciting news for fans during San Diego Comic-Con. During the panel, Janet Varney, the voice of Korra and host of Avatar: Braving the Elements podcast, revealed news of the upcoming Avatar movie.
