Many have wondered what version of Batman we will be getting in The Batman from director Matt Reeves. The trailers have shown a dark, brooding, and brutal version who is still in the early stages of becoming the caped crusader. While Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne will be learning how to become this hero, Reeves has confirmed that audiences will not be seeing another Batman origin story. Speaking with Esquire, Reeves discussed many aspects behind the development of The Batman, including his writing process and the many inspirations behind this film....

Netflix has revealed a slew of photographs that reveal our first look at Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, an all-new movie based on the original short story by Stephen King. As the countdown continues to The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere on Sunday, October 21, AMC has debuted a new preview for this season which centers on Negan. As you well know, Negan made his debut in the Season 6 premiere, killing one member of Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) group, although we don’t know who it was. This trailer doesn’t give us any hints about Negan’s victim, but it does offer plenty of new footage with Negan himself....

Fox Atomic has given us a cool high-resolution movie poster for their upcoming horror sci-fi thriller 28 Weeks Later, the sequel to 2003’s 28 Days Later. After being shrouded in mystery for the entire promotional run-up to the release of The Batman, a new extended clip from the movie has finally unmasked Paul Dano’s Edward Nashton, the Riddler. In all of the trailers and promotional clips and images, the Riddler’s face has been purposely kept hidden, whether by certain camera angles of the scenes used or by his creepy mask, while other villains such as Penguin, Catwoman and Carmine Falcone have been fully present from the start....

Dimension Films has completed casting for spoof comedy Superhero and set a March 28 release date, according to Variety. Production began on Monday. The film, written and directed by Craig Mazin (Scary Movie 3, Scary Movie 4), pokes fun at a multitude of superheroes. The cast includes Drake Bell, Sara Paxton, Christopher McDonald, Leslie Nielsen, Kevin Hart, Marion Ross, Ryan Hansen, Jeffrey Tambor and Brent Spiner. Saturday Night Live will be pulling in some superhero talent next month to host the show. Oscar Isaac, who will soon be leading his own Marvel series Moon Knight, has been tapped to host the March 5 episode of SNL. He’ll be joined by musical guest Charli XCX for the episode following her cancelation from a previously scheduled appearance on the Dec. 18 show with Paul Rudd. This is Isaac’s first time hosting SNL and it’s Charli XCX’s second musical guest spot....

They say that everyone has to start somewhere, and, like several directors before him, Patrick Lussier started out as a film editor. After cutting movies such as Scream, Scream 2, and Red Eye, Patrick Lussier made the transition to directing with Dracula 2000 and White Noise 2: The Light. He collaborated with actor-screenwriter Todd Farmer on the successful 3D horror remake My Bloody Valentine 3D, which lead to the writer and director’s latest collaboration, the fantastic 3D action-thriller Drive Angry, which arrives on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on May 31....

Joseph Quinn quickly became a Stranger Things fan favorite, as his character Eddie Munson was introduced during the fourth season of the popular series. He was the leader of the Hellfire Club at Hawkins High and rocked out with his band, Corroded Coffin. He perfectly portrayed someone growing up in the 80s, and actor/comedian Patton Oswalt let Quinn know how great he was on the Netflix show. Academy Award-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson; Harry Sloan, Chairman and CEO, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne, Co-Chairmen and Co-CEOs of New Line Cinema have jointly announced that they have entered into the following series of agreements: MGM and New Line will co-finance and co-distribute two films, The Hobbit and a sequel to The Hobbit. New Line will distribute in North America and MGM will distribute internationally. Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh will serve as Executive Producers of two films based on The Hobbit....

Peter Jackson’s WingNut Films has announced that they’ve had to stop production and development on the new Halo movie. On his official website, Peter has released the following statement: As was previously confirmed, we deeply regret that both Universal and Fox did not choose to move forward with financing the Halo film under the original terms of the agreement. At this time Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh, along with their partner, Microsoft, have mutually agreed to postpone making a feature film based on the Halo video game universe until we can fulfill the promise we made to millions of Halo fans throughout the world that we would settle for no less than bringing a first class film to the big screen....

Piranha 3D will be released on Blu-ray, DVD and 3D Blu-ray on January 11, 2011. After months of speculation, Marvel finally confirmed that their spinoff series, The Punisher is actually happening. Jon Bernthal, who made his MCU debut as Frank Castle in Season 2 of Daredevil, has been confirmed to return as The Punisher, with Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) serving as Executive Producer and Showrunner in addition to writing the series’ first two episodes. While little else is known about the upcoming show, it seems that Marvel and Netflix are prepping the show to debut next year....

IMAX Corporation and Sony Pictures Releasing today announced that Resident Evil: Afterlife, the fourth installment of the popular film series based on the video game, will be released to digital IMAX theatres simultaneously with the film’s wide release on September 10, 2010. The film, which was photographed in 3D, will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology and presented in IMAX 3D....

Mac Miller was found unresponsive in a bedroom at his San Fernando Valley home today. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. He was 26-years old. While no official cause of death has been revealed, authorities are initially attributing Miller’s death to an overdose. Miller, whose real name is Malcolm James McCormick, has struggled with substance abuse over the years, which reportedly led to the end of his relationship with pop star Ariana Grande earlier this year....

Warner Bros. Barbie movie has landed a July 21, 2023, release date, and the studio has also released a first look at Margot Robbie as the titular doll. The Warner Bros. CinemaCon panel brought some bits of new news on Tuesday, along with a lot of already known announcements, but for some, an early highlight was the first promotional shot of Margot Robbie’s appearance in the upcoming Barbie movie, which will open in cinemas against Chris Nolan’s Oppenheimer....

Married… with Children is making an animated comeback. A cartoon revival of the popular 1980-1990s series is currently being pitched to networks and streamers. Original cast members Katey Sagal, Ed O’Neill, Christina Applegate and David Faustino will return, voicing their characters for the animated series. The show will be written and executive produced by showrunner Alex Carter (Family Guy). A spinoff of Married… with Children, centered on Bud’s failed marriage and his return to his childhood home, was previously in the works but never took off....

Max Minghella is in negotiations to join the cast of Horns. We reported in July that Daniel Radcliffe will portray the lead role of Ig Perrish. The story centers on Perrish, a seemingly ordinary man who wakes up one morning and discovers horns are growing out of his head. He comes to learn that these powerful appendages make people confess their sins to him, a tool he decides to use in figuring out the mysterious death of his girlfriend....
