The DCU has been thrown into (further) disarray over the last few days, with speculation claiming that Wonder Woman 3 has been canceled, Cavill’s future as Superman is no longer certain, and Jason Momoa could abandon the role of Aquaman in favor for Lobo. Well, as per the repot, Cavill’s time as the Man of Steel is not over yet....

Law and Order: Special Victims Unit star and Executive Producer Mariska Hargitay was recently seen efficiently handling a disruptor situation during the series’ filming this week. Mariska, who plays the famed character of Olivia Benson in the show, stepped up and stopped a man from interrupting with the shooting. A video of the incident has blown up all over Twitter, and it was retweeted by Warren Leight, the Writer and Showrunner of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit....

Marvel has teased that Daredevil isn’t quite over yet. Yesterday, Netflix announced that they had canceled Daredevil after three seasons, which led to an epic uproar amongst fans. While the viewership had declined over the years, Marvel fans were extremely happy with Season 3 and the previous seasons as well. Fans have been posting screenshots of their cancellations of Netflix subscriptions on social media in response to the Daredevil cancelation. However, it looks like there is going to be more to come for Matt Murdock....

Paving the way for the production and release of The Avengers, Marvel announced today an adjusted release pipeline for its self-produced feature film properties that reflects the first time individual super hero characters and story arcs will be inter-woven and culminate in a multi-character motion picture. Separately, Marvel Studios confirmed today that Sony Pictures Entertainment will release Spider-Man 4 on May 6, 2011. Additionally, Marvel Studios has revised the release dates for Thor and The First Avenger: Captain America as part of its release strategy for an uninterrupted road to The Avengers, now debuting May 4, 2012....

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Christian Bale, who director McG had to convince to be in Terminator Salvation, ended up having to work with the director to rewrite the screenplay in order to accommodate the actor’s burgeoning stardom. Initially, McG wanted Bale to the play the role of Marcus Wright in the film. However Bale wanted to play the role of John Connor who had been a central character in the other Terminator movies....

xXx: The Return of Xander Cage is putting a foot forward with Terminator Salvation writers Michael Ferris and John Brancato in early negotiations to write a script that will reteam Vin Diesel with director Rob Cohen. According to Variety, the writing team began talks after pitching their take last Friday for a new installment in the action series to Columbia Pictures presidents Matt Tolmach and Doug Belgrad. Producer Joe Roth got Diesel and Cohen to agree to a reteam earlier this year....

Chris Nolan’s The Dark Knight has been heavily promoted across the internet in a series of viral sites, including the “counting down to Halloween” site Why So Serious. The site featured a Batman-themed Jack O’Lantern which was slowly rotting away. On Halloween itself, the pumpkin was replaced by a nation-wide scavenger hunt that led to a message being revealed: The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules....

With all this talk of Blu-ray and HD it is no surprise that downloading movies with equipment you already have is looking more and more appealing. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Movielink and media software specialist Sonic Solutions are set to confirm today a licensing agreement that will make it possible for consumers to legally watch downloaded movies using a regular DVD player.” This “pioneering deal” seems to pave the way for digital movie distribution....

Besides entertainment, films can also help us understand the world around us. Many movies depict historical events and tragedies because they give us insight into the past and the lessons we can take away from them. For example, Netflix recently released a film from Jordan called Farha. An Ocean’s Eleven prequel is moving forward. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Margot Robbie is on board to star in a new Ocean’s film that would also feature the Barbie actress in a lead role, presumably as part of an ensemble cast with other big names. The film is set to be directed by Jay Roach, who previously helmed 2019’s Bombshell, a film that earned Robbie an Oscar nomination. The project is reportedly in active development at Warner Bros....
