Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s double feature Grindhouse will be split into two separate films for non-English-speaking markets. Tarantino said he’s working on a longer version of his Death Proof segment that looks to be headed to the Cannes Film Festival, according to Variety. Given Tarantino’s Cannes history, it’s possible Death Proof could land a competition slot at fest’s 60th edition this year. He won Cannes’ top prize in 1994 with Pulp Fiction....

Director Darren Aronofsky hasn’t chosen his next project yet, after dropping out of The Wolverine back in March. A new report indicates that Disney is pursuing the director for its Maleficent project, and Warner Bros. wants Darren Aronofsky to direct its biblical drama Moses. The search for the truth behind Flight 828 will continue! The fourth season of the wildly popular supernatural drama Manifest is coming to Netflix later this year. Fans were left gutted and reeling for answers when NBC canceled Manifest after its third season last summer. A #SaveManifest social media campaign was launched to try and find a new home for the beloved missing plane show. Marvel Entertainment, Inc. announced further details around its eagerly awaited project based on the Marvel universe of Super Heroes. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been making waves in the entertainment industry, not only in terms of box office success but also in terms of recognition during awards season. The upcoming mobile-video streamer Quibi has greenlit a new docuseries exploring the long-lasting rivalry between the comic book publishers Marvel and DC. Called Slugfest, the docuseries is produced by Anthony and Joe Russo, who are of course best known for directing some of Marvel’s most successful movies. Framing John DeLorean and Believer directors Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce are also attached to the project. Also on board to produce the series are AGBO’s Todd Makurath, Peter Rieveschi (The Amazing Race), Nick Gilhool (Top Chef), and Jen Casey (Extreme Weather)....

Veteran actors Courtney B. Vance and Rene Auberjonois have joined the Season 2 cast of the acclaimed Showtime drama series Masters of Sex. Vance will recur in the guest starring role of Dr. Hendricks, the head of an African-American hospital in St. Louis whose goal is to racially integrate his hospital, and Auberjonois will be guest starring as Dr. Papanikolaou, a former professor of Dr. DePaul (guest star Julianne Nicholson), who she and Johnson hope will endorse their screening program that uses the test named after him: the Pap smear....
