A special video package honoring Nichelle Nichols will debut on Paramount+ next month in commemoration of Star Trek Day. Taking place on Sept. 12, the streaming platform’s third-annual event will include exclusive content for Trekkies. Per Deadline, this year’s event will include a “special video to honor the impact and influence” of Nichols, who sadly passed away at the age of 89 at the tail end of July. Of course, Nichols is beloved among Star Trek fans for her iconic role as Lieutenant Uhura in the original television series....

Psychotic murderer Michael Myers is coming home this Halloween…he’s back on the big screen for two nights of terror - October 30th & 31st - in select movie theatres nationwide. Director Sam Raimi is reportedly at odds with Disney over casting one of the evil witches in Oz: The Great and Powerful. The director wants to cast two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank, although the studio is heavily opposed to the move and wants two-time Oscar nominee Michelle Williams for the role. Following weeks of negotiations, Sony has finally set Sharlto Copley as the series lead Christian Walker in their Playstation Network series Powers, with Michelle Forbes also signing on to play Retro Girl. The news follows last week’s casting of Eddie Izzard as the villainous Wolfe, Noah Taylor as criminal mastermind Johnny Royale and Olesya Rulin as Calista. The plot, based on Brian Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s graphic novel, follows Detectives Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward), who are assigned to the Powers police division that investigates crimes committed by those with extraordinary abilities....

ABC Family has greenlit the original one-hour drama series Ravenswood, a spin-off of their number one-rated series Pretty Little Liars. Richard Harrison, best known as “The Old Man” on Pawn Stars, has passed away at the age of 77. Harrison died after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
