The third episode of HBO’s new series, The Last of Us, changed things up, focusing most of its runtime on the relationship between Bill (played by Nick Offerman) and Frank (played by Murray Bartlett). The episode titled “Long, Long Time” had already received praise even before its official debut. The actor’s depictions of Bill and Frank’s relationship left plenty of viewers longing to see more of the couple. However, Offerman and Bartlett spoke about the possibility of a spinoff for their Last of Us characters during a chat with GamesRadar+....

NBC has put a new Nancy Drew series into development, from writers Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, creators of the CBS series Doubt. The duo had actually written a pilot script last year for a much different Nancy Drew show, and while it was said to come “down to the wire,” CBS ultimately didn’t pick up their Nancy Drew show, but instead picked up their Doubt pilot to series, which stars Katherine Heigl, Dule Hill and Laverne Cox....

Comedy Central today announced that Rob Lowe will be this year’s Roastee. The Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe (#LoweRoast) will take place in Los Angeles with the tape and airdate to be announced at a later date. An abrasive LA radio shock jock gets a terrifying comeuppance when a disgruntled listener kidnaps his family on air. On the Line could have been an entertaining thriller. It had the basic elements and premise to weave a heart-pounding narrative. Instead, we get an avalanche of stupidity that tanks the entire film. A barrage of bewildering last-minute reveals crashes with a thud. I had a feeling something was amiss but could never have predicted anything so mindbogglingly idiotic....

Parker Posey has agreed to guest star on ABC’s drama Boston Legal as a new lawyer who’s trying to join the firm of William Shatner and James Spader. According to Variety, Posey will play Marlene Stanger, a recent transfer from another firm; Stanger is a BlackBerry-carrying politico looking to make partner. She’s scheduled to appear in three upcoming episodes. In pilot-casting news, Chris Johnson has joined Lindsay Sloane and Nick Lachey in the CW comedy pilot She Said/He Said....

Starz Chief Executive Officer Chris Albrecht announced today that Starz will greenlight Power, an hour-long original drama series executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and created by Courtney Kemp Agboh (The Good Wife), who will also serve as an executive producer and showrunner. Power tells the story of James “Ghost” St. Patrick, a wealthy New York City nightclub owner who caters to the city’s elite. He wants to build an empire, turn the club into a Fortune 500 business, but there’s just one problem: Ghost is living a double life....

Critically-acclaimed actor Wendell Pierce (The Wire, Treme) will guest star in a recurring role on Season 2 of the hit Showtime drama series Ray Donovan. Pierce will play Mr. Keith, a down on his luck parole officer who gets a payoff from Ray (Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee Liev Schreiber). Pierce joins previously announced guest stars Emmy-winner Hank Azaria, along with actresses Sherilyn Fenn and Vinessa Shaw. Lionsgate has acquired domestic and U.K. distribution rights to The Spirit, a live adaptation of the classic Will Eisner comic book series, according to Variety. Frank Miller wrote the script and will direct. The Spirit is a man who fakes his own death so he can fight crime from the shadows of Central City. His nemesis is the Octopus, who kills those unlucky enough to see his face and is looking to wipe out the entire city....
