Following its debut during the World Premiere of Planet Earth: Blue Planet II in London, a five-minute prequel for the landmark series has become the BBC’s first ever natural history global simulcast, with 75 countries around the world transmitting it on TV, including on BBC America in the U.S., China, India, Canada, Singapore, Sweden, Poland and South Africa. The exclusive curtain-raiser for the seven-part series features a Hans Zimmer and Radiohead musical collaboration, titled (ocean) bloom, which is a fusion of the main theme song from Planet Earth: Blue Planet II with a reimagined version of Bloom, a song Thom Yorke was prophetically inspired to write having watched 2001’s The Blue Planet....

Luke Perry, best known for his role on Beverly Hills, 90210, has died. Perry suffered a massive stroke last week and was rushed to a nearby hospital in California. He remained there under observation after being put into a medically induced coma until his passing. Perry was 52. The actor’s publicist had this to say in a statement. Born in Ohio, Luke Perry moved out to Los Angeles after high school in order to pursue his dreams of becoming an actor....

Mads Mikkelsen is no fan of method acting. The accomplished actor, who can be seen in the new film Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, has earned widespread acclaim for his various roles. New Line Cinema’s The Nativity Story will become the first feature film ever to premiere at the Vatican, it was jointly announced by New Line’s President and COO of Worldwide Distribution and Marketing Rolf Mittweg, and Stefano Dammicco, CEO of Eagle Pictures, the film’s Italian distributor.
