Anchor Bay is starting the year off right! In a story from Fangoria, they report that the company has Special Edition DVDs of Phantasm (release date April 10) and Re-Animator (March 20) planned. These discs are going to have “distinct” extras that other releases of these titles didn’t have. For example, Re-Animator will have two audio commentaries. One will be by “writer/director Stuart Gordon, and the other with producer Brian Yuzna and actors Bruce Abbott, Jeffrey Combs, Barbara Crampton and Robert Sampson....

Last week we reported that director Kevin Smith is self-distributing his horror movie Red State, first taking it on tour with a roadshow presentation starting in March. It seems Red State might look a tad different than it did during its Sundance debut, as Kevin Smith revealed that he plans to take anywhere between five to ten minutes out of the film as it now stands. It took some time, but Guy Ritchie’s latest will finally be available on DVD on this side of the pond. Revolver, which was released theatrically in the UK in 2005 and finally got an American release last month, is coming to DVD on March 18. The disc will be priced at $24.96. The film stars Jason Statham, Ray Liotta and Vincent Pastore. Just out of prison, Jake Green (Statham) is a hotshot gambler, but he’s rarely allowed to play in any casino because he always wins....

Wubba lubba dub dub! In other words, it’s a good day to be a Rick and Morty fan as we finally have confirmation that the long-awaited season 4 is on the way. We’ve still got a handful of months to wait, but it’s coming before the end of 2019. At the very least, we now know roughly when to expect some more cosmos-traversing, science gone horribly wrong adventures, as Adult Swim has announced that the beloved animated series is returning this November....

Adult Swim has released the first trailer for the long-awaited fourth season of Rick and Morty, giving fans a good look at some of the gags to come. Running at just under two minutes long, the video comes with plenty of new footage and there’s more than enough to make any big fan of the show excited. Spreading the word on the issue of AIDS AIDS is sometimes a very touchy subject to discuss, especially when it’s in an entertainment setting. The new film, 3 Needles deals exactly with that - in three very different parts of the world, China, Africa, and Canada. Written and directed by Thom Fitzgerald, the movie takes notice of the growing problem throughout the world. Although FX still hasn’t formally announced an exact due date for the limited series Fargo, which is coming sometime this spring, the network has released the first two photos, featuring Martin Freeman as Lester Nygaard and Allison Tolman as Deputy Molly Solverson. Like the original 1996 classic Fargo, this 10-episode series is based on a Minnesota true crime story. Lester Nygaard is loosely based on William H. Macy’s Jerry Lundegaard, while Bemidji, Minnesota cop Molly Solverson is inspired by Frances McDormand’s Marge Gunderson....

Variety reports that Martin Lawrence is coming back for Big Momma’s House 3. Regency is financing this film that will also star Brandon T. Jackson (Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief). 20th Century Fox will distribute this film that will be directed by John Whitesell. He directed Big Momma’s House 2. The actor who portrays Taggart talks about his return to the SyFy series Viewers of one of the SyFy network’s hit shows, Eureka, will see the return of a familiar face tonight when Matt Frewer returns as Jim Taggert in the latest episode (which was directed by series star Joe Morton), which airs tonight, Friday, September 11 at 9 PM ET on SyFy. It seems that one of the last shows to premiere this season for NBC won’t even get the chance. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has canceled its sophomore cop drama Southland. Production was shut down on the John Wells drama after six episodes. The series’ second season was set to debut during the network’s premiere week, but the premiere was pushed to October 23 and now it isn’t clear when those six produced episodes will air....
