A new photo from the Budapest set of The Munsters, Rob Zombie’s upcoming movie based on the classic television series, has just been posted to the filmmaker’s Instagram account. In the image, all three of the film’s lead stars - Jeff Daniel Phillips (Herman Munster), Sheri Moon Zombie (Lily), and Dan Roebuck (Grandpa) - are in front of the Munsters family home at 1313 Mockingbird Lane. All three are having the final touches applied to their makeup, presumably in preparation for their next scene as the beloved monster family....

Are you ready for even more Mummy movies? Well, according to Variety, Universal and director Rob Cohen have cast 26 year old Luke Ford as Brendan Fraser’s son in the next installment. Their intent is to make future sequels revolving mainly around this new character. Just how many sequels, we don’t know. Ford is set to play Alex O’Connell, who follows his father into China and the Himalayas. There they encounter a terrifying new zombie who can shape-shift at will....

Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen broke into mainstream stardom for his role as the main villain of the 2013 NBC television series, Hannibal, but this was far from his first crack at show business. Fans of Hannibal looking for more Mikkelsen should turn to his work in movies, where some of his finest performances can be found. Mikkelsen has had a long and varied career as a film actor. He got his start in Denmark with the 1996 crime drama Pusher, and he’s been on a hot streak ever since....

Steve Beeks of Lionsgate and Howard Cohen of Roadside Attractions jointly announced today that the companies have partnered to acquire and release J.C. Chandor’s thriller, Margin Call. Following all night negotiations, the deal was negotiated by Cassian Elwes and Rena Ronson of UTA on behalf of Margin Call producers. Howard Cohen negotiated on behalf of Roadside and Steve Beeks on behalf of Lionsgate. The film’s world premiere is Tuesday night at the Eccles Theater, and a 2011 theatrical release is planned....

In what is kind of a strange story, actor Martin Freeman has gone on record to declare that his character Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is not a virgin. And he would like director Peter Jackson to acknowledge this with a love scene shown in either one of the two upcoming prequels. To prepare for the role of Bilbo, Martin Freeman claims that he did consider every aspect of the character’s life, including his past relationships with other hobbits....

Marvel Studios announced today that they will be sponsoring a Global Twitter Chat on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 11 a.m. (PST) with cast members and the director of their highly anticipated action-adventure Marvel’s the Avengers, opening in theaters on May 4, 2012. The 30-minute live tweeting event features writer/director Joss Whedon and cast members Tom Hiddleston and Clark Gregg. Fans around the world will be able to participate in the Q&A on Twitter by using the @Avengers handle and the #Avengers hashtag....

Marvel’s What If…? series is going to feature the voices of a lot of original Marvel Cinematic Universe cast members. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige announced the show back at Comic-Con last month and explained that it would be unlike anything we’ve seen thus far. He appeared at the D23 Expo to say the same thing while introducing Hayley Atwell to the enthusiastic crowd. Atwell is reprising her role as Peggy Carter in an episode where she takes the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers....

Mary Elizabeth Winstead has signed on to star in A&E’s new drama series The Returned, with Sandrine Holt and Agnes Bruckner joining the cast in supporting roles. We reported in April that A&E issued a 10-episode order for Season 1, which is based on the hit French TV series The Returned (Les Revenants). The story is set in a small town where several people who have long thought to be dead, mysteriously reappear, which brings both positive and negative consequences....

Gerard Butler has joined the cast of director Curtis Hanson’s real-life surf drama Mavericks. The story will follow Jay Moriarity, a Santa Cruz surfer who set out to conquer the dangerous Northern California breaks known as the Mavericks. During the winter, the wave swells can get up to the size of a five-story building. Gerard Butler will portray surf instructor Rick “Frosty” Hesson, the man who trained Jay Moriarity for over a year to beat the Mavericks....

Mayans M.C., the hit biker drama created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, has been renewed for a second season on FX, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. The second season will premiere on FX in 2019. Mayans M.C. is the #1 new series on cable in 2018 in Adults 18-49, Adults 25-54 and all key male demos....

Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor have set out to create one of 2009’s greatest films with their upcoming Crank High Voltage. Not only did they hire Corey Haim for one of the most important supporting roles in the highly anticipated Jason Statham sequel, they have also nabbed legendary musician Mike Patton to score the entire soundtrack. Earlier today while conducting an exclusive interview with Danny DeVito for his upcoming film Nobel Son, the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star let it slip that his friend was currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on the music for the film....

The DCU is filled with iconic villains. Some are street-level threats, who’d rather focus their energies on small-scale crimes against the likes of Batman. Netflix, the world’s largest online movie rental service, announced it has acquired all North American rights to Sherrybaby, a buzz-maker at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The film, written and directed by Laurie Collyer, features a critically-acclaimed lead performance by Maggie Gyllenhaal. The Sherrybaby deal includes theatrical, DVD, television and download rights and will be released through Netflix’ newly created Red Envelope Entertainment group. Netflix has inked an agreement with IFC Films to handle the U....

Deadline is reporting that New Line/Warner Bros. has dropped the right to make the proposed Escape from New York remake. The original starred Kurt Russell as Snake, a tough convict dropped into a futuristic New York that has been turned into a post-apocalyptic maximum security prison. He’s charged with rescuing the president (Donald Pleasence), who is held hostage by the prison kingpin (Isaac Hayes) after his plane within the city walls....

It looks like ABC is in development on a new Untitled Marvel TV Series. As for what it could be? That remains rather mysterious right now, but this is still an interesting tidbit for fans. ABC was given the first live-action TV series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe era in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which is still going but is nearing the end of its run. Since ABC is owned by Disney, it would make sense to continue that relationship with a new show in the future and it sounds like those discussions are taking place....
