Pig director Michael Sarnoski is in negotiations with Paramount Pictures to direct a spin-off to John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place. The currently untitled film is based on an original idea by Krasinski and takes place in the same world as A Quiet Place. As per Deadline, Paramount is planning a shared universe around the 2018 horror film, which was inevitable considering both A Quiet Place and its 2021 sequel proved to be huge critical and commercial hits for the studio....

According to Variety, New York-based Plum Pictures has optioned English-language remake rights to the Michael Haneke-directed French thriller Cache. The film follows a popular TV personality and his wife, who find videos of their family and alarming drawings with obscure meaning left on their porch. The videos keep coming and the footage becomes more personal and violent. Daniel Auteuil and Juliette Binoche star in the French version, which has been lauded with several awards....

The Psych 2: Lassie Come Home trailer has arrived. Lionsgate Picks Up Bratz Feature Film and DVD Releases Based on the popular Bratz fashion dolls. Lionsgate has picked up domestic distribution rights to the first live-action feature based on the popular Bratz fashion dolls, according to Variety. The studio is also getting exclusive North American home entertainment rights to Bratz animated movies that will be direct-to-DVD releases. Before Matthew Vaughn gets to work on writing and directing his adaptation of Marvel Comic’s Thor, it seems he may be working on bringing Mark Millar’s newest comic project Kick-Ass to the screen. Ain’t It Cool News brings us the news that Vaughn and his writing partner Jane Goldman are working on the script right now. Starz announced today that their upcoming pirate series Black Sails will make its debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2013 with an exclusive screening of the pilot episode on Thursday, July 18. “Special guests” from the series will be present at the screening, so stay tuned for more information soon. Actor Millie Bobby Brown has become a well-known figure in the entertainment industry since her initial rise to stardom thanks to Netflix’s Stranger Things. In addition to starring in the popular Netflix series as the supernaturally gifted Eleven, Brown also played the lead character in Netflix’s movie franchise series Enola Holmes. The second movie in the Enola Holmes series was released back in October. Author Steve Hillard has signed a deal with EMO Films to develop his novel Mirkwood for a feature adaptation. The novel centers on a fictional version of author J.R.R. Tolkien. Here’s what Steve Hillard had to say about the adaptation. Joel Eisenberg and Timothy Owens will executive produce Mirkwood for EMO Films. “The adaptation of Mirkwood will follow the template of the novel, but will delve considerably deeper into Tolkien’s little-known back story, such as his original plans to become a codebreaker in World War II up through the writing of his enduring works....

The Netflix pop-up shop at The Grove shopping complex’s 10,000 square-foot space in Los Angeles is set to open on October 13, 2022. According to the company, Netflix’s original entertainment franchises will “come to life through colorful, photo-ready vignettes,” and feature life-size versions of characters and artifacts including Vecna; the terrifying Young-Hee robotic doll from Squid Game; and Queen Charlotte’s throne from the Bridgerton prequel. The pop-up store at The Grove is Netflix’s first multi-title brick-and-mortar destination....

It might be pretty short notice but fans of Stranger Things can celebrate the show with Netflix, who have finally unveiled their schedule ahead of Stranger Things Day 2021, which happens on November 6th. We all know now that Stranger Things will return sometime in 2022 for its fourth season and that there are a number of other projects based on the series still to come, and as part of their celebration of everything “upside-down”, Netflix will be “teasing new footage and exclusive content on social media, hosting live fan experiences and introducing limited edition merchandise online and in brick and mortar stores around the world....
