It was announced today that iconic comedienne Pat Carroll, who became best known later in life for giving a voice to Ursula the sea witch in Disney’s The Little Mermaid, has died at the age of 95. The star, who was a constant TV presence from the 1950s through to the end of the 1980s, passed away at home after suffering from pneumonia, as was reported by Deadline. Born in 1927 in Louisiana as Patricia Ann Carroll, she and her family moved to Los Angeles when she was five years old....

As the televised trial involving Johnny Depp and Amber Heard continues, one of the former’s co-stars from the Pirates of the Caribbean series has made it clear who he supports in the legal battle. Greg Ellis, who played Lieutenant Commander Theodore Groves in the Pirates films, has been pretty outspoken on Twitter about the entire ordeal. He writes off Heard’s allegations that Depp abused her as “false accusations,” arguing that her testimony is “dangerous” in a series of tweets....

The Universal Pictures project R.I.P.D. has brought on veteran actor James Hong. He is the second actor to be brought on today after we reported Victoria’s Secret model Marisa Miller will make her feature debut in R.I.P.D. Oddly enough, both Marisa Miller and James Hong have similar roles. James Hong portrays Grandpa Chen, the avatar of Ryan Reynolds’ character, while Marisa Miller plays Jeff Bridges’ avatar. The story centers around a group of cops killed in the line of duty who form the Rest in Peace Department, a unit of ghosts who bring unwilling souls into the afterlife....

Actress Rachel Weisz has joined The Railway Man for Lionsgate and director Jonathan Teplitzky (Burning Man). The story is based on Eric Lomax’s autobiography, which details his capture by Japanese soldiers in World War II, where he was sent to work on the infamous “death railway” in Burma. The story is split between his capture as a young soldier, and his life as an adult who still can’t fully grasp the torturous experience....

Man of Steel and Army of the Dead director Zack Snyder has revealed a synopsis for his upcoming Netflix science fiction epic, Rebel Moon. Appearing on the latest episode of The Preston & Steve Show, Snyder offered some detailed insight into the direction of Rebel Moon – a project that essentially sounds like Seven Samurai in space. Which is certainly no bad thing. Rebel Moon taking major inspiration from legendary director Akira Kurosawa and his masterful 1954 classic Seven Samurai should come as little surprise, with Snyder having previously mentioned the filmmaker’s name when revealing details of the Netflix project....

Just in time for Valentine’s Day in 2023, Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher will debut their new rom-com Your Place or Mine at Netflix. The film stars the two as best friends who don’t realize they just may be perfect for one another romantically until after they spend some time living in each other’s houses on opposite sides of the country. Mad Men is a period drama that aired on AMC for seven seasons, and featured a strong ensemble cast including Christina Hendricks, Jon Hamm, Elizabeth Moss, January Jones, Vincent Kartheiser, John Slattery, and Kiernan Shipka. The series followed the staff of the fictional New York advertising agency Sterling Cooper. The title of Mad Men is explained in the pilot episode as a phrase used to describe 1950s advertisers with Mad being short for Madison Avenue, however, there is limited evidence to prove this phrase was used in a historical sense....
