Isaac Brock, Modest Mouse front man and songwriter, will compose the score for the upcoming feature film Queens of Country. Ryan Page and Christopher Pomerenke, the writing and directing team behind the film, are best known for their music documentaries including Blood Into Wine, The Heart Is A Drum Machine and Moog. The pair have placed an equal amount of importance on the scores to their films with both The Flaming Lips’ Steven Drozd (The Heart Is A Drum Machine) and Maynard James Keenan’s Puscifer (Blood Into Wine) having contributed to their films....

It’s hard to say which is more surprising - the fact that Rachel McAdams is on the hunt to play a superheroine, or the fact that the one she has in mind is Black Orchid, and obscure character who gained some notice when re-imagined by Neil Gaiman. A new piece of concept art from DreamWorks Animation’s Rise of the Guardians has arrived, which offers a look at Santa, the Easter Bunny, The Sandman, and the Tooth Fairy in their secret layer, on the eve of saving the world from an evil demon named Pitch. Check it out below, along with insight from author William Joyce, who penned the children’s book upon which this is based. Rise of the Guardians follows the Earth’s greatest protectors, including Santa (Alec Baldwin), The Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman), The Tooth Fairy (Isla Fisher), and the Sandman (a silent, monk-like character), who must protect the children of the world from an evil demon named Pitch (Jude Law)....

SafePass LA (Ordinance No. 187219), which requires patrons of covered locations to demonstrate proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 before entering indoor spaces and large outdoor events within the City of Los Angeles is nearing its effective date. The new ordinance only requires patrons of businesses to show proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Employees are not included in the SafePass LA program and therefore employers are not required to verify proof of vaccination for their employees, although they are strongly encouraged to do so....

The upcoming Star Trek sequel has lost its director. Previously, it had been reported that Matt Shakman, who made a name for himself with the immense success of the Disney+ series WandaVision, was set to direct Star Trek 4 with production gearing up to start in the not-so-distant future. Now, amid new reports of Shakman returning to Marvel Studios to direct the planned Fantastic Four reboot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s been announced (via THR) that Shakman has resigned from Star Trek 4....

With the final season of Lost to begin airing tomorrow night, some interesting news has come out about two of the main cast members and their actings futures. E! Online was in Hawaii over the weekend for the Lost season premiere party and star Matthew Fox revealed that the show will be his last foray into television. Evangeline Lily also made a bombshell announcement at the event when she told the site that she might not be acting at all after the series wraps filming in April....

Melissa McCarthy won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her impersonation of former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on Saturday Night Live. Dave Chappelle also won for his appearance on SNL as well at Sunday’s Creative Arts Awards, which is a precursor to the Emmy Awards next weekend. Chappelle hosted the first Saturday Night Live after the presidential election while McCarthy had a reoccurring guest spot playing Sean Spicer in an exaggerated, often manic portrayal that gained praise and viral laughs days after the show would air, much like Alec Baldwin’s impersonation of Donald Trump....

If there is one thing guaranteed to bring a smile to the faces of fans of the Back to the Future movies, it is seeing actors Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd getting together.
