Real life Hollywood couple Melissa Gilbert and Bruce Boxleitner recently took time to answer questions from television critics about their TV movies for the Hallmark Channel. Sacrifices of the Heart stars Melissa Gilbert and Ken Howard. It was written by Patti Davis, the daughter of President Ronald Reagan. The movie is about the onset of Alzheimer’s disease and will air March 3. Boxleitner stars in the movie Pandemic which premiers in May....

Recently we had the pleasure of sitting in on a teleconference with Masters of Horror creator Mick Garris. Having directed such things as The Fly II, Freddy’s Nightmares, and the TV version of The Shining, it makes sense that Garris (who is also a prolific screenwriter and novelist), would eventually put together a series celebrating the masters of his beloved genre. He certainly had a lot to say when he sat down to discuss the second season of this very popular show....

Disney’s National Treasure series unveiled a first-look teaser at San Diego Comic-Con today, along with the news that Harvey Keitel will be reprising his movie role for the show. While the series brings a new cast and story to the franchise and has been said to have very few links to the National Treasure movies starring Nicolas Cage, it looks like that may not be entirely true with Keitel on board the series and comments regarding the hope of Cage’s involvement being made by the series’ star....

Chiller, NBC Universal’s new channel, screams into its March 1 debut chock-full of horror and thriller television series and feature films ranging from Tales from the Crypt and Twin Peaks to The Shining and Psycho. Chiller is the only 24/7 entertainment cable channel dedicated to the popular horror genre, and events are planned throughout Chiller’s first two months to showcase its programming. As previously announced, Chiller will be available to more than 16 million DIRECTV subscribers and will be located on channel 257....

DreamWorks Animation and Netflix have teamed up to introduce She-Ra to a new generation with the new She-Ra and the Princesses of Power series. And today, Netflix has provided our first look at the series in the form of a still picture along with a picture of the cast. Noelle Stevenson (Lumberjanes) is helming the She-ra reboot and wasn’t even alive when the original show aired in 1985, but wishes that she had She-Ra around when she was growing up....

Marvel Television, Freeform and ABC Signature Studios today have completed casting for Marvel’s New Warriors, their previously announced new comedic live-action adaptation of the popular Marvel comic featuring young adult heroes. Marvel’s New Warriors marks Marvel’s first foray into comedy for a live-action television series slated to debut in 2018 on Freeform, Disney’s young adult television and streaming network. Not quite super, not yet heroes, Marvel’s New Warriors features six young people learning to cope with their abilities in a world where bad guys can be as terrifying as bad dates....

Jesse Corti, Danielle Harris, Bill Moseley, Joe Pilato, Alona Tal and Cornell Womack are warming up their voices for Night of the Living Dead: Origins, the 3D CGI re-imagining of the George A. Romero zombie classic directed by newcomer Zebediah de Soto. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story again follows a group of humans trying to stay alive during a zombie attack. Corti (Heroes) is voicing a news reporter, and Harris (Halloween II) plays a woman who held her family together forced to come to grips with its absence....

Spoiler Warning: Orphan: First Kill After over a decade of waiting, Orphan fans finally got to see the prequel Orphan: First Kill. The film follows Leena Klammer (Isabelle Fuhrman) as she breaks free from the Saarne Institute, a psychiatric facility in Estonia, and escapes to America by posing as the missing daughter of a wealthy family. Fuhrman is joined by Julia Stiles as Tricia Albright, Rossif Sutherland as Allen Albright, Hiro Kanagawa as Detective Donnan, and Matthew Finlan as Gunnar Albright in the new installment....

Disney Channel has ordered a second season of its hit series Raven’s Home, starring and executive produced by multitalented Raven-Symoné who reprises her role as Raven Baxter from the iconic comedy That’s So Raven. Production will resume in Hollywood next month. Joining Raven-Symoné as executive producers are Dava Savel (That’s So Raven, Will and Grace) and Michael Feldman (That’s So Raven, Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn). Director Kevin Smith has plans for further sequels to some of his movies following the release of Clerks 3, with the filmmaker revealing that he is going to make a follow-up to his 2011 horror outing, Red State. While appearing at a screening of Clerks 3 in Austin, Texas (via Slash Film), Smith explained why he has been unable to make Red State 2…until now. But now, following a conversation with Lionsgate, who have worked with Smith on the third Clerks movie, Smith can finally bring Red State 2 to life....

Last week’s launch of the Blu-ray Disc format, much like that of rival HD-DVD in mid-April, was more a dress rehearsal than anything else, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Last Tuesday, the first seven titles, all from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, went on sale at select consumer electronics stores.
