New Line has brought on Neil LaBute to write and Taylor Hackford to direct The Woman Next Door, a remake of the 1981 Francois Truffaut film La Femme d’a cote, according to Variety. The film marks the first writing assignment LaBute has taken on for another director. In its continued bid to get Netflix’s Watch Instantly feature on as many multimedia prouducts as possible, the company recently announced that they are teaming up with Sony stream content. Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (SCEA) and Netflix, Inc. today announced that they are joining forces to make thousands of movies and TV episodes from Netflix available to be streamed instantly to TVs via the PlayStationۏ (PS3(TM)) computer entertainment system. Netflix expects to begin streaming via the PS3 system next month at no additional cost to Netflix members in the United States who have a PS3 system....

The cast includes Dame Emma Thompson as Miss Trunchbull, and for the casting, the actress underwent a physical transformation. The Cartoon Network and Hasbro are teaming up to produce new episodes of the Transformers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the revitalized series will premier in January. This is the first incarnation of the Transformers cartoon that won’t be produced with Japanese toy and production partner Takara. The new series, titled Transformers Animated, will be significantly different than the other incarnations of the cartoon franchise. There will be humor, new characters, and the Autobots will be fighting evil humans in superhero-type fashion more than they will be dealing with the Decepticons....
