Martin Scorsese says he is considering the possibility of 3D for some upcoming projects, namely Benicio Del Toro and Gael García Bernal-starring Silence and his Sinatra biopic based on the famed performer. In a recent interview with Variety reporter Christy Grosz, the filmmaker says he is considering the possibility of 3D, but is not interested in using 3D just for the sake of it. Two of Hollywood’s favorite Bostonians are coming back for another round. According to IndieWire, actors Matt Damon and Casey Affleck are reuniting once again for a new project titled The Instigators, per an official release today by Apple Studios. The film itself is to be directed ironically (or not so) by another close friend of the duo, Doug Liman, who also directed the entire Bourne movie franchise among other blockbuster action flicks, such as Tom Cruise’s Edge of Tomorrow (2014)....

Here is our conversation: How would you say your character, Jo, is different from Lindsey Lohan’s character in the original Mean Girls? Meaghan Jette Martin: Jo is pretty different from Katie, Lindsay Lohan’s character, because Katie comes from Africa and had been home-schooled her whole life. It’s really her first experience, socializing with people her own age whereas Jo has moved around the country a lot and has been to every high school and experienced every bad situation that high school can offer....

USA’s hit series Mr. Robot is coming to an end with the upcoming fourth season. The 12 episode final season is expected to begin filming late this year for a 2019 premiere date, which has not been announced yet. Season 4 was originally only going to have 8 episodes and creator Sam Esmail was thinking about making a fifth season. Instead, episodes were added to the fourth season and the decision was made to end the show....

A “new” book by J.R.R. Tolkien goes on sale on Tuesday which may well be the author’s last complete work to be published posthumously, according to Reuters. Tolkien’s son and literary executor Christopher, now in his eighties, constructed “The Children of Hurin” from his father’s manuscripts, and said he tried to do so “without any editorial invention”. Already told in fragmentary form in “The Silmarillion”, which appeared in 1977, the new book is darker than The Hobbit and “The Lord of the Rings”, for which Tolkien is best known....

The film has only been out for a week, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating on what they will see in the next chapter of JJ Abrams recently rebooted and refurbished Star Trek series. Developed by ER’s Jack Orman, ABC’s Pan Am was a one-season historical drama full of brilliant potential. Phoebe Waller-Bridge has seen her profile rise dramatically in the last few years, and along with her upcoming role in Indiana Jones 5 with Harrison Ford, she has joined the cast of John Krasinski’s new fantasy comedy, which also stars Ryan Reynolds and Fiona Shaw. Formerly known as Imaginary Friends, the now untitled project is set to shoot next summer for a November 2023 release. In this film he plays Chan, a police officer with some unorthodox ways of doing things which gets him in trouble with the top brass. Producers Michael Birnbaum and Jeremiah Chechik have ponied up some dollars for screen rights to the House of Night, a series of nine young adult novels by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. According to Variety, the series was published by St. Martin’s Griffin, and just reached its fourth installment with the recently released “Untamed.” House of Night takes the vampire myth in a Harry Potter-esque direction. In the series, “vampyres” are accepted in society; they possess a genetic anomaly that manifests itself in some people at puberty....

An upcoming remake film’s cast continues to grow with a new actress joining the fold. Latino Review reports that Rachel Nichols has signed on for a role in Conan. The actress will play Tamara in the film and reportedly beat out actresses Jessica Lucas and Sarah Shahi for the role. You can read the casting breakdown posted by the site below. Red Mile Entertainment, Inc., a worldwide developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software, announced it has entered into a multi-year, worldwide license agreement to develop and to publish video games based on the Sin City series of graphic novels by writer/artist and film director Frank Miller. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The winner of multiple awards in its original comic-book and graphic-novel forms, the Sin City property achieved even greater public awareness with the 2005 release of the successful Frank Miller’s Sin City live-action theatrical feature film....

The next M. Night Shyamalan project is coming to screens. Knock at the Cabin, an adaptation of Paul G. Tremblay’s novel The Cabin at the End of the World, is planned for a 2023 release, which is still a bit far off, but Shyamalan has already finished filming his next masterpiece. The film will follow a “home invasion horror that takes place during the apocalypse,” based on information provided to Bloody Disgusting....

There’s not going to be another Avengers without Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk. At least that’s what Mark Ruffalo has to say. The Avengers veteran and Bruce Banner/Hulk actor is reprising his role in the upcoming Disney+ original She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The series will mark the debut of his cousin, Jennifer Walters, who becomes the superheroine She-Hulk after accidentally getting a transfusion with Bruce’s blood. Maslany has been cast as Walters. Like other central Marvel Cinematic Universe characters, this wouldn’t be the only time she’ll appear as the six-feet-seven, green lawyer....
