Will the PlayStation 3’s delays be Microsoft’s gain? Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer sure thinks so. Home Media Retailing reports that the boisterous CEO sees Sony’s PS3 production woes as having a very positive impact on Microsoft’s Xbox 360. According to Ballmer, whichever company could have their console penetrate the market with “10 million unit sales,” that would make them “the undisputed leader.” Ballmer went on to say that Microsoft “had no plans to increase production of Xbox,” even though that console had it’s share of “production problems” when it was first brought to market....

Terror Films has picked up the North American distribution rights for Mister Limbo, a new horror-comedy movie starring Valley Girl’s Cameron Dye alongside Hugo de Sousa and Vig Norris. The film tells the story of two strangers who wake up in the middle of the desert with no memory of anything, including their own names. Are they dead, or did they just party too hard at Burning Man? The cast confirmed for American Horror Story: Apocalypse, the 8th season of Ryan Murphy’s hit anthology series, is expanding like the ominous mushroom clouds seen in the recent teaser. NBC has announced it will debut Dick Wolf’s Chicago P.D. (the spin-off of Chicago Fire) at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, as well as the season premiere of Community with back-to-back episodes from 8-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2. Community then settles into its 8 p.m. time period on Jan. 9 followed by Parks and Recreation at 8:30, replacing Welcome to the Family. The Jan. 9 episode will be the show’s 100th and was co-written by Amy Poehler and Michael Schur....

NBC’s Heroes continues its rise in popularity. The show has spawned several taglines that have caught the imagination of the viewers and have helped increase its ranking. Currently it is the top ranking freshman series on television. Tim Kring, creator and executive producer of the series says the original “buzz” phrase from the show, “Save the cheerleader, save the world,” was not necessarily intended to be tagline. “Well, the ‘Save the cheerleader’ was just a line of dialogue from the script....

Julie Garner is pulling off the ultimate con job in the new Netflix series Inventing Anna. Inspired by the true story of Anna Delvey, a fake heiress who was arrested in 2017 after she was outed as New York’s biggest con woman, the limited series comes from Shonda Rhimes and consists of nine episodes. Peter Capaldi’s run as the Doctor is very nearly over. Following this year’s upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special, it will be Jodie Whittaker taking over Tardis duties on the long-running sci-fi series moving forward. She will be making history as the show’s first ever female Doctor, and it looks like the creative team is looking to shake things up even more with her new companion. If this new report is true, Bradley Walsh, a 57-year-old man, is going to be the companion for Doctor Who season 11....

A sitcom taking place within the existing Walking Dead universe is apparently not out of the question, as chief content officer Scott M. Gimple says there have actually been serious discussions with AMC about developing a “full comedic” spin-off. Created by Robert Kirkman as a comic book series and later adapted for television by Frank Darabont, The Walking Dead has always been known as a horror franchise. Both in print and on the small screen, the franchise has featured some incredibly disturbing moments and rather violent deaths....

The Oscars are giving their shorts some love in Beverly Hills. According to Oscars.org, the Academy has announced that it will put 10 nominated short films on display in Beverly Hills this February 19th at the Samuel L. Goldwyn Theater around 7 PM. The program will feature the five live-action short films and the five animated short films nominated for the 80th Academy Award. There will also be on-stage discussions with some of the filmmakers....

ParaNorman is a 2012 stop-motion movie directed by Sam Fell and Chris Butler. It centers around a young boy named Norman (Kodi Smit-McPhee), who can communicate with the dead. Actor Patrick Stewart is set to join various cast and crew of Dorothy of OZ for the animated musical’s big Comic-Con debut. We reported back in December that director Paul Thomas Anderson was looking to make a religion-based film his next project and now it seems one studio has passed on the film. Deadline New York is reporting that Universal Pictures passed on the new Anderson film, which could be due to the disappointing returns from their new film Green Zone. It was said that the studio balked at the $35 million budget of Anderson’s film....

The Good This show has the ability to really get under your skin. The Bad No extras. Reviews for the action movie Plane have now landed, so will this be the sort of landing where all the passengers clap? Or is Plane as disastrous a crash as the one that begins the movie? Thankfully, it looks to be the former, as Gerard Butler and Mike Colter make an engaging pair of heroes as they attempt to rescue hostages from a band of armed militants. It seems that a dream project of Quentin Tarantino’s may finally see the light of day. According to Deadline Hollywood Tarantino’s script for Inglorious Bastards is ready for production and it has gone out to the studios. The script, which is said to center on a group of World War II soldiers who are about to be executed but are sent on a kamikaze mission instead, is Tarantino’s homage to The Dirty Dozen....
