This May, while most network shows will be wrapping up their seasons, Showtime is debuting its brand new horror series Penny Dreadful, which features a number of iconic literary characters. Reacher is based on the Jack Reacher novel series by Lee Child. Season 1 is based on the first novel in the series, Killing Floor, which was released in 1997. Alan Ritchson stars in the lead role, and it would seem that the fans have taken well to his version of Jack Reacher. In the series, Jack Reacher, a military police investigator, has recently entered civilian life when he is falsely accused of murder....

Jonas Åkerlund, the director behind Lords of Chaos and Netflix’s Clark, will direct an upcoming biopic about infamous punk rocker GG Allin. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be titled GG Allin: Live. Fast. Die., and will dive into Allin’s tumultuous life, including an undiagnosed mental illness and struggles with drugs and alcohol. Don Murphy and Susan Monford will serve as producers and have acquired the late musician’s life and music rights....

A24 has another hit on their hands! Following its June 24th opening, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On has scored a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes! Audiences and critics alike have fallen head over heels for the little shell in the big world. A24’s official synopsis describes the film below. Capitalism: A Love Story is the newly unveiled title of Oscar-winner Michael Moore’s latest documentary feature. Overture Films will release the film domestically on October 2, 2009, and Paramount Vantage will handle international distribution. As previously announced, Moore will return to the issue that began his career: the disastrous impact that corporate dominance and out-of-control profit motives have on the lives of Americans and citizens of the world. New Line Cinema is developing and will produce a big-screen account/romantic comedy detailing professional hockey player Sean Avery’s experiences as a summer intern at Vogue, where, among other duties, he served as guest editor of MensVogue.com. Avery, who considers himself something of a fashion jock, started his internship in May. According to The Hollywood Reporter, New Line has hired Stan Chervin to write the screenplay, which will be a big-screen account of Avery’s experiences in the fashion world and the relationships he made there....

Despite not seeing John Malkovich as the bad guy in Spider-Man 4, the first look at his Vulture wings has been revealed. The author and illustrator Ken Penders shared a picture of the villain’s wings on social media, explaining that he had kept it hidden for almost 15 years. Recent reports indicate that Malkovich would have played an exceptionally dark Vulture in the scrapped Spider-Man project. “Before Tobey & Sam were bid adieu by Sony, work actually had begun on SPIDER-MAN 4, and I visited friends who were working on the Vulture’s costume intended for actor John Malkovich....

Despite rumors to the contrary, director Zack Snyder has made it official. There will be no Zod in his upcoming reboot of Superman. Snyder recently spoke with Empire Magazine, where he claimed that his upcoming adaptation of DC Comics’ number one superhero would be completely different from anything we’ve ever seen before. Yet, he also plans to stay true to the traditional aspects of the character. After all, that is why they are rushing to get this project off the ground faster than a speeding bullet....
