Rian Johnson is making his way back to television with the Peacock series Poker Face. The murder mystery bolsters quite the cast, including the recently announced S. Epatha Merkerson and Judith Light. On Aug 15, Variety reported a flurry of new talent joining the ensemble, such as Ron Perlman (Sons of Anarchy), Nick Nolte (Graves), Charles Melton (Riverdale), and Tim Blake Nelson (Watchmen). They will join an already established cast, including Adrien Brody, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jameela Jamil, Tim Meadows, and Natasha Lyonne....

You can enjoy one of the latest animated hits in with your whole family on DVD and Blu-ray this March. Planet 51 will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on March 9. The standard DVD will be priced at $28.96 SRP and the Blu-ray, which will be a two-disc DVD/BD combo set, will be priced at $35.99 SRP. Quentin Tarantino: legendary film director, Peppa Pig fanatic. In the new issue of Empire, Tarantino spoke about how he and The Video Archives Podcast collaborator Roger Avary have been introducing cinema to their children. The Pulp Fiction and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood director, who was married to wife Daniella Pick in 2018, welcomed son Leo in 2020. The couple also welcomed another baby into the family just days ago during the 4th of July holiday weekend....

Colors of the Dark podcast co-host Rebekah McKendry has just started the cameras rolling in Winnipeg on the supernatural horror feature Elevator Game. McKendry is sitting in the director’s chair right now, having replaced Michael Goi on the film. This marks McKendry’s fourth feature-length film after Glorious, which is currently in post-production. When discussing the project, Goi has previously said that he wanted to do to lifts what Psycho did for showers....

Gladiator director Ridley Scott has asserted his enthusiasm for bringing the long, long awaited (and largely unexpected) sequel to the big screen, saying it would be “critically stupid” of him not to make Gladiator 2 happen. Asked recently whether he could see himself helming the follow-up, Scott questioned the idea of passing up on the opportunity to continue the legacy of his epic historical drama. Scott’s clear eagerness for Gladiator 2 is sure to excited those who have wondered for all these years whether the proposed project would ever come to fruition....

Burn Notice returns to the USA Network with a run of seven brand new episodes dubbed “Season 2.5,” which premieres on Thursday, January 22 at 10 PM ET on the USA Network. One of the big reasons for the show’s success is due to creator/showrunner/executive producer Matt Nix, who actually directs this first episode back. While Michael B. Jordan was promoting Creed III, which is set to hit the theaters on March 3, he revealed that he’s been planning on taking the Creed franchise to a whole new level with the possibility of producing Creed IV and producing a spin-off based on Creed. The actor-turned-director confirmed that Creed IV is “for sure” and that they’ve been considering doing spin-offs too. During Michael B Jordan’s interview with IGN for the IGN Fan Fest, he spilled some interesting details about the franchise, and it seems that Creed’s story is far from over....

It’s going to be just one season and done for Naomi at The CW. Per TVLine, the network has pulled the plug on the DC series. The reason for this seems to be due to a substantial decline in the ratings since the start of the season in January. Ratings were strong initially but had reportedly dropped by over 40% as the series rolled out its first season episodes. The news comes just after the season finale, which now serves as the series finale, premiered on The CW on May 10....

NBC has formally picked up Kings to series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The project, a contemporary take on the David vs. Goliath tale, originally was ordered as a two-hour pilot, though NBC announced it as a midseason replacement at 10 p.m. Sundays at its “in-front” presentation in April. The official series pickup was made after NBC brass saw footage from the Francis Lawrence-directed pilot, currently in production. Kings, written by Michael Green, stars Christopher Egan and Ian McShane....

Harry Styles has been making quite an impact on Hollywood recently with high profile appearances in last year’s Marvel movie Eternals, and as one of the leads in the Olivia Wilde directed Don’t Worry Darling, which released last month. Now he will return to cinemas on October 23 in My Policeman, and a new poster has been released by Prime Video confirming the movie’s subsequent release on streaming on November 4....

According to Reuters, the Walt Disney Co. is in serious talks about purchasing Pixar Animation Studios, the Wall Street Journal said on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter. The terms under discussion would have Disney dole out a small premium to Pixar’s current stock market value of $6.7 billion. The deal would be a stock transaction and make Pixar Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs (co-founder of Apple Computers) the biggest individual shareholder in Disney, the Wall Street Journal reported....
