It’s the end of the line for Nancy Drew. Ahead of the upcoming fourth season’s premiere, it has been announced that the show has been canceled by The CW. According to Deadline, there have been internal discussions for months about possibly ending the show with season 4, which is currently in development. With the show’s creative team fully aware of the situation, the fourth season has been developed with the thinking it will also be the last, and season 4 is said to end with a satisfying series finale rather than an open-ended cliffhanger....

Netflix’s Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde has come under fire for a number of reasons since its debut on the platform last week. Some critics and audience reviews have slammed the film for being an exploitation of the late actress, others have called it cruel and now the movie’s handling of two illegal abortions has brought further scorn from the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The subject of abortion is a sensitive one in the US right now, and coming only three months after the decision to overturn Roe v Wade by the Supreme Court, the scenes in Blonde have really ignited fears over how abortion is depicted and what people will take away from it....

We have reported last night and last week that two sequels to Paramount comedies weren’t moving forward and now some new details have emerged. Deadline New York is reporting that both Anchorman 2 and Zoolander 2 aren’t totally dead but need to come in with much leaner budgets to get made. It was said that Paramount still wants to make the films, but will apparently wants to make the films for around $40 million apiece....

Netflix is going to kick off 2021 by giving the world exactly what it needs; a whole lot of swearing. The streaming service has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming docuseries History of Swear Words. Just as the title suggests, the show will be taking viewers on a journey, exploring the history behind some common profane language. Oprah Winfrey and ABC are teaming up for a primetime special to chronicle the talk show host’s five-year journey of building a school for disadvantaged girls in South Africa. The Hollywood Reporter notes the special, Building a Dream: The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy, will also feature the stories of some of the girls who study at the Academy. The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy – a 28-building campus boasting computer and science laboratories, a library, a theater and a wellness center – opened in January with a ceremony attended by former South African president Nelson Mandela and such celebrities as Tina Turner, Mary J....

That’s going to be a wrap for Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj on Netflix, as the streamer has put an end to the political satire talk show after a two year run on the service. With Hasan Minhaj serving as the host, the series was created and executive produced by Minhaj and Prashanth Venkataramanujam. Jim Margolis, Michelle Caputo, Shannon Hartman, and Jennie Church-Cooper also executive produced. Since 2018, the series has run for 39 episodes across six seasons, with its final episode debuting back in June....

Pedro Pascal seems very unlikely to see his character in The Mandalorian meet his maker anytime soon, but in a previous life, his Game of Thrones character, Oberyn Martell, was not so lucky. Meeting his gruesome demise in one of the most memorable and brutal deaths of the entire series, which is saying something, Oberyn’s death is one that Pascal absolutely loved every minute of, although his character probably wouldn’t have the same opinion on the matter....

The Good This film was a classic the moment it was a conceived. The Bad I thought the image quality was a little dark.The Pineapple Express ne of those movies that’s just happens. Take a decent script, put in some very capable actors, throw in a wildcard director and that’s what you get with this film about dope. Seth Rogen plays Dale, a process server who spends the majority of his day smoking buds....

The Shining getting recognition at the Golden Raspberry Awards has always stood out as one of the parody award show’s biggest missteps, given how the film is now widely considered to be one of cinema history’s greatest movies. At the first-ever Razzies in 1981, director Stanley Kubrick was nominated for Worst Director for The Shining, a factoid that’s hard to fathom in 2022. Also nominated that same year for Worst Actress was for The Shining was Shelley Duvall, who may not have been acting all that much given the time she had filming the movie....

The Mangler has been chugging along for quite some time. After its first lacklustre excursion, the creators brought in Freddy Kreuger hisself, a snarling, snappish, hissing snake of a Robert Englund to helm the second one. And in a very interesting way, it did sort of work. But now, there’s the third one. Believability stretched to the limits, they couldn’t very well put this giant monstrousity back in a laundromat. No one cleans clothes like this today–even the oldest industrial laundry has found different methods....

It seems the House on Haunted Hill is returning to but this effort will be straight to DVD! In press release from Marketwire, they announce that the post production facility PrimEdge, Inc. has “completed” it’s work on the sequel to 1999’s The House on Haunted Hill. The title of this new film will be Return to the House on Haunted Hill. In an interview in iF Magazine with Joel Silver, who is producing Return to the House on Haunted Hill (he also produced the 1999 effort), he says that people shouldn’t think ill of the film simply because it’s going straight to DVD....
