Elvis star Austin Butler has a ringing endorsement for his performance as the King of Rock ’n Roll from his ex-wife herself, Priscilla Presley. Ahead of the premiere of Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming biopic, Presley was given a special screening of the film, which details the rise of Elvis along with his relationship with Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks). The film will have its world premiere at Cannes before hitting theaters in June, and it’s already scoring some early Oscar buzz....

NBC must be happy with how things are going for Quantum Leap, the new revival of the hit sci-fi series, as the network has just ordered six more episodes to be included in the freshman season. At this point, just three episodes have aired as part of the season’s 12-episode order at NBC. Per THR, season 1 has now been bumped up to 18 episodes, making Quantum Leap the first freshman series of the current TV broadcast season to get an extended season order....

When looking at Paul Dano’s version of the Riddler, many have compared the interpretation to the real life Zodiac Killer. Dano’s performance will be seen in full in the upcoming The Batman. In an interview with Collider, the project’s director Matt Reeves talked about how a significant reason he picked the Riddler as the main antagonist was the Zodiac himself. Writers Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, whose latest project, Wanted, hits theaters today, have penned a script for Sony and producer Neal Moritz and his Original Film All Creatures Great and Small. Series star Jason Lee was just as bummed as the fans when My Name Is Earl was axed after a four-season run. Originally airing on NBC from 2004 to 2009, the sitcom was created by Greg Garcia and featured Lee in the titular role, also starring Ethan Suplee, Jaime Pressly, Nadine Velazquez, and Eddie Steeples. It follows Lee as Earl Hickey, a man who makes a list of everything he’s done wrong in his life and embarks on a journey to make up for every single one, all in the name of karma....

NBC has picked up its freshman drama series Chuck and Life – as well as its hit Heroes – for the 2008-09 season, it was announced today by Ben Silverman, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, and Marc Graboff, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios. All three series will have major re-launch campaigns next year. “We are thrilled to be bringing back the high-energy dramas Chuck and Life for next season,” said Silverman....

Looks like The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder just can’t keep away from the undead bloodsuckers as today we have the trailer for his new Netflix series V-Wars to share with you guys. This month, New Line Cinema’s Snakes on a Plane, which wrapped principal photography in September in Vancouver, went back before the cameras for five days of additional shooting at the Lot in Los Angeles. In this case, it wasn’t the usual reshoot, says The Hollywood Reporter, but was used to hastily assemble to fix a nagging story problem. The studio decided to create new scenes that would take the movie from PG-13 into R-rated territory....
