Sony Pictures Animation has hired Gnomeo and Juliet director Kelly Asbury to write Pooch Cafe. The project is based on Paul Gilligan’s syndicated comic strip which focuses on a dog named Poncho, who hangs out with his canine friends at the Pooch Cafe. Here’s how the studio described this neighborhood establishment. It looks like the new Magnum P.I. hasn’t been taken off the case after all. In May, it was reported that CBS had decided to cancel Magnum P.I. after four seasons with the series getting booted along with B Positive, Good Sam, How We Roll, and United States of Al. While reviews and ratings had still been strong, the series was reportedly canceled when business talks stalled over a license fee....

Back in July, Netflix issued a renewal for Making a Murderer Season 2, although the streaming service has still not revealed when the new season was debut. The show became a cultural sensation immediately after debuting in December 18, following the fascinating case of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey, who were convicted in connection to the murder of Theresa Halbach in 2005.
