In 1980, the average cost of a movie theater ticket was around $2.70 and on September 3, 2022, movie lovers can enjoy the full theater atmosphere – screaming or laughing with the crowd for just $3. It’s all part of a campaign by the Cinema Foundation, a non-profit arm of the National Association of Theater Owners to lure folks back to the theaters during Labor Day weekend, which is normally a slow time at the box office....

MTV will air the 90-minute exclusive documentary about Britney Spears, Britney: For the Record, where she talks about her dark moments in the spotlight. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the documentary airs Nov. 30, and documents a three-month period of Spears’ life earlier this year, including sessions for her upcoming Jive album, “Circus,” and preparations for her appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards. An MTV spokesperson says “no topic was off limits” during the interviews....

We’ve got some sad news to report on today, as naturalist and wildlife expert Jim Fowler has reportedly passed away. According to his family, Fowler died at his home in Norwalk, Connecticut on Wednesday at the age of 89. An official cause of death has not yet been revealed. Fowler is perhaps best known for his decades-long run on the TV series Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, where he served as the co-host of the program from its inception in 1963 to 1985....

Because of the writers’ strike, network television is going to start devoting more of its time to political coverage. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC is already gearing up to cover Super Duper Tuesday for at least one hour in primetime. Super Duper Tuesday could determine each party’s presidential candidate. They may even expand their coverage to include the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary. NBC News president Steve Capus stated, “If at any given point that we decide that it’s appropriate, we can always flip the switch and go to the network....

Pamela Anderson, the bombshell Baywatch star and model-turned-actress from the 90s is telling her life story in Netflix’s new documentary Pamela, a love story, in her own words. The documentary is set to drop on January 31st on Netflix and from the looks of the trailer, Pamela will be addressing her career, being a woman in Hollywood, and the infamous leaked sex-tape with ex-husband and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee....

The Disney+ Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac slammed The Walt Disney Company for its donations to Florida politicians who supported the “Don’t Say Gay” bill during a March 22 virtual press, according to IndieWire. The press event took place on the same day as the LGBTQIA+ Disney cast members and allies staged a full-scale walkout over the company’s response – and lack thereof – to the anti-gay legislation. The former Poe Dameron actor also said he fully supported the walkout....

Ghostbusters fans will soon be getting an all-new box set containing most of the films in the series, and Paul Feig wants to know why is installment is not among them. Set to arrive in early 2022, Sony is releasing the eight-disc Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection box set on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD alongside the single home release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The Ultimate Collection includes 1984’s Ghostbusters, 1989’s Ghostbusters II, and 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife....

Leading independent studio Entertainment One (eOne) has joined forces with the dynamic and innovative team of Paul W.S. Anderson and Jeremy Bolt to develop a new one-hour psychological thriller series for television, The Reel. The series spec was brought to eOne by talented first-time writer, Adam D’Alba. In this “found footage” series, a young documentarian searches for evidence of the supernatural. His first case concerns the mysterious last days of two teenagers and a serial killer, known as the Mirror Mask Killer, who uses various forms of psychological torment to exact bloody vengeance on its victims....

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds have joined the cast of Big Eyes for producer Tim Burton and directors Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. The project is based on the true story of artists Margaret Keane and Walter Keane, whose bizarre paintings featuring large eyes were beloved across the world in the 1960s. Star Wars producer Rick McCallum was interviewed about upcoming George Lucas projects by Sci Fi Wire at Tuesday’s Saturn Awards. He said about the highly anticipated Star Wars live-action television series “George is starting to start the basic concept of it. … We’re interviewing writers. We’re seeing a lot of people.
