Given what we know about the direction of the MCU, we can assume they will lean on the 2015 Marvel Comics storyline more than the 1984 storyline, which has much less to do with the Multiverse....

Actress Nicki Aycox, perhaps most well-known to fans of Supernatural for her role as Meg Masters, has died. Per CBR, the news was shared on social media by Aycox’s sister-in-law who revealed that the actress died with her husband by her side. Describing herself as a “former actress” in her Instagram bio, Aycox previously shared with her followers that she was battling Leukemia. She was just 47 years old. “My beautiful, smart, fierce, incredibly talented, and loving sister-in-law, Nicki Aycox Raab, passed away yesterday with my brother, Matt Raab, by her side,” the announcement reads....

According to Variety, Platinum Studios and Blue Star Pictures have hired the Pang brothers (Bangkok Dangerous) to direct The Darkness, based on the comicbook series from Top Cow Prods. The horror pic is under option at Miramax, where it had been brought in by Bob and Harvey Weinstein for Dimension Films. With the Weinsteins gone, it’s unclear whether the specialty arm will still pursue the project. Platinum and Blue Star are prepared to go it alone, with Platinum now having raised half the financing for the $28 million movie....
