Real Steel is a sci-fi movie directed by Shawn Levy, set in a world where people build robots to compete in boxing matches. The film premiered in 2011, and it followed Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman), a former prizefighter-turned-promoter who teams with his estranged son, Max (Dakota Goyo), with whom he must form an unlikely bond in order to build and train a championship robot for a final chance at redemption. The Real Steel film explores themes of family, redemption, and fighting against all odds as its characters find themselves intertwined in high-stakes battles....

The dark comedy The Sophomore has just nabbed newcomer Reece Thompson for its title role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will also star Mischa Barton and Bruce Willis. The plot revolves around Thompson’s character, a bullied Catholic high school newspaper reporter who finds himself investigate the theft of the SAT exams by the most popular girl in school. The deeper he goes into the investigation, the more he uncovers about the school’s president and its top jocks....

Major casting news has turned out to be incorrect, as clarified by Marvel Studios. Initially, a casting announcement included Regé-Jean Page as part of the cast for Secret Invasion, a Marvel series that’s currently in the works at Disney+. The news was quick to go viral and had fans pretty stoked, but Marvel has since clarified on Twitter that the actor’s name was incorrectly added to a previous casting list and that he is not actually a part of the new series....

The Reno Sheriff’s Department is getting back together. We learned in December that Quibi, the upcoming streaming service that specializes in short-form content, is bringing back Reno 911! for a revival series. At the time, it was confirmed that several cast members would be returning, but it wasn’t clear who that would be. Now, we have word that the entire main cast from the Comedy Central days will be back in uniform keeping the streets of Reno safe for season 7....

Despite a steady flow of Disney+ content and its usual film output, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been an eerily quiet place for the last three years. Matthew Perry is seeing his new project to the “end.” According to Variety, Perry is set to star in The End of Steve for Showtime. Perry also co-wrote the script with and will co-executive produce alongside Peter Tolan. The pilot will center on Perry’s character, an afternoon talk-show host who’s sunny on-screen demeanor has drawn a healthy following, even though he’s quite unpleasant off-screen. The series will focus on Perry’s character trying to find a balance between the two, and also focus on a love interest, who is the station’s morning show host, a role which hasn’t been cast as of yet....

Megalomaniac cuts deep and twists the knife. It’s complexly layered, blends moral lines, and contains visceral violence and cruelty. It’s an unflinching film with coldly delivered performances, and a Cheval Noir award from the 2022 Fantasia International Film Festival. “It was from the real case, a good start for the fantasy,” explained Karim Ouelhaj, director of the film. Megalomaniac focuses on Felix and Martha, children of Butcher of Mons, a Belgian serial killer in the 1990s....

It seems that the untimely death of legendary icon Michael Jackson has slightly altered an upcoming movie’s recent premiere. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a scene in the Sacha Baron Cohen film Bruno which involved Jackson was cut from the film just hours before the film’s Hollywood premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theater last night. The scene in question involved Cohen’s Bruno character interviewing Jackson’s sister, LaToya Jackson about several topics including Michael....

Moon Knight proved to be something of a revelation on Disney+, bringing not one but two new heroes to the MCU without relying on cameos, connections and other aspects that have been a part of previous Marvel Studios shows on the platform. However, even though Moon Knight has been standing on its own two feet, star May Calamawy has said that she would still love to cross paths with several MCU heroes in the future, including the soon-to-be joining Blade....

Director David Fincher will return to screens this year with The Killer, a neo-noir action thriller led by Academy Award nominee and X-Men: Days of Future Past star Michael Fassbender. While details of The Killer have largely remained a mystery, Netflix has now released our first look at the movie and confirmed that The Killer will debut on the platform later this year on Nov. 10, 2023.
