Viacom Inc. announced that MTV and Nickelodeon will become full labels under the Paramount Motion Picture Group (PMPG) as part of a new structure designed to deepen their already successful track record with their core target audiences. The two former production companies, which previously operated as on-lot producers, will now join several other labels under PMPG’s umbrella, including Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks SKG, Paramount Vantage and Paramount Classics. “After successful 12-year stints as production companies at Paramount, we are going to upgrade MTV and Nick to full movie label status,” said Tom Freston, Viacom President and CEO....

The Good Who doesn’t love The Muppets? The Bad For some reason, the First Season just seemed better. The Muppet Show: The Complete Second Season is probably the most notable because it features Kermit the Frog doing his well known song, “It’s Not Easy Being Green.” Beyond that we get regular skits like “Pigs In Space,” “Swedish Chef” and “At the Dance,” as well as Kermit hosting the show with Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggie and Rolph at his side....

NBC unveiled today a wide spectrum of its post-January mid-season schedule that features the series premieres of the new drama Kings (March 19) with a two-hour event, plus the season debuts of Medium (February 2) and a two-hour Celebrity Apprentice (March 1) – as well as original episode returns for Chuck (returning with a special “3-D” episode February 2), Heroes (which begins “Fugitives,” a new volume on February 2) and Life (February 4) – and the movie event XIII (February 8 & 15)....

Zack Snyder has updated the official website for Watchmen again, this time with images from the “New York City” backlot (constructed in Vancouver, BC.) New Photos from the Watchmen Backlot Snyder describes the vision behind the backlot. “Since the New York City that is rendered in the graphic novel is so particular, it was very important to me that our backlot speak the same language, the vernacular of Watchmen. In addition, the backlot needs to function as many different parts of the city, countless store fronts, street corners, alleys, etc....

Don’t let the date fool you, this is no April fools. Finally, having been gifted with the first five episodes of Rick and Morty Season 4 back in November of last year, we now have been given a glimpse at what we can expect from the remaining five episodes of the Adult Swim animated comedy. Adult Swim has now released a brand, spanking new trailer for the last five episodes, giving us a preview of the titular duo’s upcoming adventures, and, of course, they look as weirdly wonderful as you would expect....

A new Ultraman movie is officially happening at Netflix. The streaming service has partnered with Tsuburaya Productions and Industrial Light and Magic to bring the iconic Japanese hero to the streaming world with a new animated feature. Along with the announcement, some initial artwork from the movie has been released as well. The image sees the iconic hero of Japanese cinema in a heroic stance, with fighter jets taking to the sky above him....

Kids across America, including those who voted Drake & Josh their Favorite TV Show last month at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards, will cheer to hear that the hit series starring Drake Bell and Josh Peck has been picked up for an additional seven episodes, bringing its upcoming fourth season total to 20. The announcement about the buddy comedy that also ranks as TV’s number-one rated live-action series with kids 2-11 was made today by Marjorie Cohn, Executive Vice President, Development and Original Programming, Nickelodeon....

Thundercats, Ho! Exciting news for fans of the human-feline hybrid team of warriors, as Hulu has now announced that both the original 1980s television series, and the modern revival series, will both be launch on the streaming service on August 20th. So, depending on when you’re reading this, they could well be available right now. Created by the late Ted “Tobin” Wolf and produced by Rankin/Bass Animation Entertainment and Leisure Concepts, the original ThunderCats series aired its first run between September 9, 1985 and September 29, 1989....

Paddington is a 2014 live-action animated comedy written and directed by Paul King. The story is developed by that of King and Hamish McColl, which is also based on the stories of a character named Paddington Bear, created by Michael Bond. The film tells the story of the titular anthropomorphic bear who is sent by his Aunt Lucy to London from the jungles of “Darkest Peru” for a better life; there, he is adopted by the Brown Family....

Television and film star Pamela Anderson (E!’s Pam: Girl on the Loose) will make a cameo appearance in an upcoming episode of NBC’s freshman comedy series Kath & Kim, herself in a scene with celebrity-gossip obsessed characters Kath (Molly Shannon) and Kim (Selma Blair). Kath & Kim is the American adaptation of the Australian hit comedy series that stars Molly Shannon Hellboy II: The Golden Army"Hellboy II") as the hilarious and iconoclastic mother-daughter duo....

During a presentation at the Television Critics Association, Paramount+ announced that two new South Park specials will be coming to the streaming service in 2022. These specials are a part of the recent $900 million deal that South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker made with Paramount+. The massive deal stated that South Park was set to expand the universe onto the platform with an expected 14 movies and 6 additional seasons that would air on Comedy Central....

The latest footage from the upcoming action thriller, Plane, finds Den of Thieves star Gerard Butler fist-fighting to survive. Released courtesy of Collider, this newest clip teases just a little of what’s to come as Butler teams up with Luke Cage star Mike Colter in order to defeat a band of heavily armed anti-government militias and rescue a plane-full of hostages. When I found out in March that there was a chance I was possibly going to be able to cover the junket for Cars, I was extremely excited. Then I found out it was going to be held in North Carolina, and that excitement went up about 100%. Well, Disney spared no expense; they flew everyone down to Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina! The whole cast and crew of the film came down to speak to the press in suites inside one of the largest tracks in the world, as well....

Movie Picture Alien Invasion Arizona is one of those movies that I like to refer to as “Meatloaf Movies”. There’s not that much good to say about it, and yet, there’s not too much bad to say about it. It’s quick (eighty-seven minutes quick), the plotline is tasteless but not actively offensive, and it’ll at least leave you mildly satisfied. And what’s in this meatloaf is the story of a prison transfer gone awry at the behest of one of the transferred prisoners, a Mafia cleaner named, of all things, Brando....
