The Best Man: The Final Chapters is the third and final edition in The Best Man franchise created by Malcolm D. Lee, which premiered Dec. 22. The closing saga brought audiences back into the lives of the close-knit college friend group as they navigate complicated relationships and unpredictable events in their transition into midlife adulthood. According to reports obtained by Variety, the miniseries officially cracked Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming rankings, making it the first Peacock original to do so....

Now that brotherly duo Bobby Farrelly and Peter Farrelly have gotten their dream project The Three Stooges out of the way, they are setting their sights on another long gestating project, the sequel to Dumb and Dumber. The brothers plan to reunite original stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, and have already hired Sex Drive scribes Sean Anders an John Morris to pen the screenplay. Bobby Farrelly and Peter Farrelly hope to direct the film themselves....

USA Network debuted the show Psych about a self-proclaimed psychic, Shawn Spencer, played by James “Roday” Rodriguez, and his best friend, pharmaceutical sales representative Burton “Gus” Guster, played by Dulé Hill, in 2006. Shawn, however, is more like Sherlock Holmes than a psychic in that he is keenly observant to his surroundings, thanks to his detective dad drilling him on how a detective sees the world. For eight seasons, the duo fumbled through murder investigations around Santa Barbara, Canada, and England....

MTV has confirmed that the reality series Punk’d will be returning to the network, although it is not known who will host the show. Series creators Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg are on board as executive producers, but Ashton Kutcher will not be hosting since he is still shooting this current season of Two and a Half Men. The network is said to announce the host of Punk’d during its New Year’s Eve celebration on December 31....

The Resident Evil franchise began as a series of horror video games and has since blossomed into an assortment of movies, television series, comics, and books. Although the IP continues to draw international interest, hardcore fans of the games that started it all tend to be wary of new adaptations, particularly film adaptations. Their reasons are more than justified, as no movie adaptation of the series to date has been particularly successful in translating the horror-action of the games into filmic form....

The New York Times reports that after a string of spectacular failures, Joe Roth says the time is up for his independent film company, Revolution Studios. In 2000, Roth founded the studio after serving as chairman at both 20th Century Fox and Walt Disney Studios. He had announced that he would start an independent studio that would create quality movies with modest budgets. He brought in investors, most notably Sony Pictures Entertainment, to share the cost....

While Robert Downey Jr. has been doing plenty of press for his upcoming blockbuster Iron Man 2, due in theaters May 7, he also revealed some new details on another sequel in the works. MTV Movies Blog recently spoke with Downey Jr. who revealed that Sherlock Holmes 2 might see his title character traveling outside of London. Downey also spoke about who will return for the sequel, such as his Sherlock Holmes co-star Rachel McAdams, although it seems that those decisions haven’t been made as of yet....

The Incredible Hulk is smashing its way onto the big screen this summer, and is going in a completely different direction than Ang Lee’s Hulk. In an interview with Wizard Magazine, director Louis Letterrier talks about the choice to break away from Lee’s film, and the villains who will confront the Hulk. “It’s a fresh start because I saw there is a real fan base for Ang Lee’s movie,” said Leterrier....

Machete premiered Wednesday night at the historic and recently restored Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles and we were there. The star-studded event was complete with Mariachis playing on stage as the packed audience of friends, family, fans, Hollywood-insiders and honored guests strolled into the theater. The stars of the film all arrived in style with Machete himself, Danny Trejo, leading the pack on a special custom made red and yellow flamed chopper designed by LA tattoo and graffiti artist Mister Cartoon....

As fans get ready to embrace the new Time Lord in Doctor Who, played by Peter Capaldi, BBC has released four photos from Season 8, which give us our first look at returning character Madame Vastra, played by Neve McIntosh. Although they are not pictured, this self-proclaimed “lizard woman from the dawn of time” will be joined by her Paternoster Gang members Jenny Flint (Catrin Stewart) and the Sontaran, Strax (Dan Starkey) this season....

From Star Wars to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Solo star Alden Ehrenreich has just boarded the upcoming Ironheart series in the works at Disney+. Per Deadline, the actor has been cast in a mystery role with no details divulged about his character. He joins as well as main star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, the young crimefighter who serves as a successor to Tony Stark’s Iron Man. Marvel has not yet provided an official comment on the casting news....

Heads up, America, and get ready to Meet Dave - or rather a 15-foot tall replica of the title character’s head, from Twentieth Century Fox’s upcoming fish-out-of-water comedy starring Eddie Murphy. Dave is heading on a cross-country tour - beginning in Los Angeles on June 13, then visiting a “top-heavy” list of major U.S. markets. At the “head” of the list is New York’s Times Square, where Dave will “headline” a full three days, July 3-5; the Manhattan landmark also serves as one of the film’s key locations....

There seems to be an evolution at major awards shows, with more and more of them doing away with the traditional gendered acting categories. While the Academy Awards still puts up awards for Best Actor and Best Actress, with Will Smith and Jessica Chastain respectively winning those Oscars earlier this year, gendered categories are starting to become a thing of the past as seen with other awards shows. We saw this at the Gotham Independent Film Awards on Monday which combined the formerly separate acting categories into single categories for Outstanding Performance....

The status of Modern Family has been in question recently, with its future on ABC remaining uncertain. This week, star Sofia Vergara said the show was “likely” to be back for another season, although a renewal had yet to be officially announced. Today, it has been confirmed by the network that the show will be back for Season 11, but the bad news is that it will serve as the final season for the series....
