Filmmaker Ridley Scott is returning to the world of Philip K. Dick, producing a new mini-series based on his novel The Man in the High Castle, according to Deadline London. Ridley Scott will produce the four-hour mini-series for the BBC, with Howard Brenton adapting Philip K. Dick’s novel for the small screen. The Hugo Award-winning The Man in the High Castle is set in an alternate world where Nazi Germany and Japan’s Axis powers actually defeated the American Allied forces in World War II....

Love Etc., Jill Andresevic’s acclaimed multi-character documentary depicting the many stages of modern metropolitan romance, will be distributed by Paladin, it was announced by company president and CEO, Mark Urman. The film, which is the first production from Jonathan Tisch’s Walnut Hill Media, had its world premiere at the Hamptons International Film Festival last October, where it won the Audience Award for Best Feature Documentary. Set entirely in New York, a city that it explores and embraces in glorious detail, the film will debut in exclusive Manhattan engagements in June before expanding nationally throughout the summer....

Michael Bay, the director who, among other things, helmed the first five Transformers movies and the first two Bad Boys, is reteaming with his former producing partner Brad Fuller in time for a new distribution deal for their company. Together, they created Platinum Dunes with then-partner Andrew Form in 2001. Fuller and Form would leave Dunes in 2018, splitting themselves in 2020. Bay would go on to form Bay Films. Fuller is currently the principal of his production company Fuller Media....

Morgan Freeman was seriously injured in a car accident on early Sunday morning in Mississippi and was transported to a Memphis, Tenn. hospital. The actor is in serious condition after the accident on late Sunday night where his car went off the road in rural Tallahatchie County, Mississippi. NBC announced today an ambitious new primetime lineup for the 2012-13 season that combines one of the top-quality returning slates on television with a new fall edition of the red-hot musical competition The Voice and a crop of six new scripted series this fall, plus four more debuting in mid-season. The Weinstein Company announced today that production is underway on Marco Polo," a Netflix original series based on the epic adventures of Marco Polo. Shoot locations for the ten episode Season 1 include Italy, Kazakhstan and the new Pinewood Studios in Malaysia. Netflix plans to premiere the series in late 2014. Neve Campbell’s departure from the Scream franchise raised several questions again about actor wages, with the star citing a pay dispute as the reason she won’t be returning for Scream 6. Having played Sidney Prescott in all five Scream movies to date, it seemed inevitable that Campbell would be joining fellow original cast member Courteney Cox for the next installment after the success of Scream – technically Scream 5 – in early 2022, but soon after the sixth film in the franchise was announced, Campbell revealed she would not be part of it as she did not believe she was getting the financial recognition she deserved....
