According to Variety, Paramount is in final negotiations with Brit filmmaker Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake) to direct and produce his adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s adult fairy tale Stardust. Vaughn penned the script with writing partner Jane Goldman. Gaiman’s novel, first published in 1997 as “Stardust: Being a Romance Within the Realms of Faerie,” is set in a town in the English countryside where the magical and mortal mix. Story’s centered on a young man who promises his beloved that he’ll retrieve a fallen star by venturing into the magical realm, where he has to contend with witches, goblins, gnomes, talking animals and evil trees....

On the heels of writing and directing Glass Onion comes Rian Johnson’s next project, Poker Face, a Peacock series scheduled for release later this month. It’s a murder mystery crime show, minus Benoit Blanc, produced by both Johnson and Natasha Lyonne, who also stars in the show. The streaming service announced the series in March 2021, and the final product has finally come to fruition with a very ’70s-style vibe as displayed in the trailer, which given the nature of the series, is surely a throwback to the detective shows of the 1970s....

The latest teaser trailer for Prey finally unmasks the new Predator, revealing his screaming, snarling face in all its monstrous glory. Titled “Hunt,” this latest footage comes courtesy of 20th Century Studios, and once again teases the vicious battle between the Predator and a Comanche warrior. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg and written by Patrick Aison, Prey is the latest installment in the iconic Predator franchise. Lensing began this week in Spokane, Washington on the family comedy feature Diamond Dog, being directed and produced by Emmy-winning and DGA Award-nominated Mark Stouffer. The film stars French Stewart (Clockstoppers) as the boss of a bumbling band of jewel thieves, with Kevin Farley (The Waterboy) and Kelly Perine (One on One) as his sidekick thugs. The thieves have pulled off a $5 million jewel heist and are in town to make their connection, when a 12 year old boy – played by Luke Benward (How To Eat Fried Worms) – rescues a dog from them after they threaten it....

Puss in Boots was an instant scene-stealer when he debuted in 2004’s animated sequel, Shrek 2. Superbly brought to life by Antonio Banderas, the character was given his own adventure 11 years ago, and a sequel, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, is now set for release later this year. Directed by Joel Crawford, the first 27 of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish was screened for a lucky few recently, with the filmmaker revealing to Variety that the Dreamworks follow-up will tackle much darker themes than many are likely expecting — such as death and mortality....

The Good Helen Mirren and the rest of the cast are superb. The Bad I wish there would have been a BBC documentary on the history that was put across in this film The Queen is a well told, almost by the book tale of the aftermath of the death of Princess Diana. This film examines the class systems in England, but at the same time it also examines the class system that had evolved in the Royal Family due to Diana and Queen Elizabeth II (Helen Mirren) not getting along....

We don’t have any pricing details on this three-disc set as of yet, but it will contain all 16 episodes from this season.
