While it was reported a few days ago that a recently-canceled series might have new life, it seems it was all for naught. According to The Hollywood Reporter, My Name Is Earl will not continue with new episodes on TBS. It was said that creator Greg Garcia and the studio, 20th Century Fox Television that produced the show, decided the show couldn’t move forward with the kinds of budget cuts that were needed to continue the show on the smaller cable network....

The successful stand up comedian talks about the unique acts on the show, host Craig Robinson and future projects Natasha Leggero has not only found success on the stand-up comedy stage but in film and TV as well. She has appeared in various roles in Reno 911!, He’s Just Not That Into You and she currently voices Callie Maggotbone on the new Comedy Central animated series Ugly Americans along with several appearances as herself on Chelsea Lately....

NBC has ordered early full-season pickups for the 2007-08 season for four hit series – the comedies The Office and My Name Is Earl, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, it was announced by Kevin Reilly, President, NBC Entertainment. “These three series represent some of the best of what we consider to be the ‘NBC brand’ of quality shows,” said Reilly. “It is a pleasure to give them an early renewal to develop more stories for next year since we know they will remain both critical and commercial successes for a long time to come....

According to code found inside the company’s iPhone app, Netflix Inc. isn’t planning to let users of its new add-supported tier download shows and movies to their devices to allow for offline viewing. The code also suggests that users won’t be able to skid ads, which is a common move in the streaming world, and playback controls won’t be available during ad breaks—making it seem like Netflix is distinguishing the upcoming service from its current offerings....

Author Kate DiCamillo’s book The Magician’s Elephant will soon come to life on screen. Netflix has ordered an animated film adaptation of the book, set to be released this spring. DiCamillo is best known for her work in children’s fiction, with over 25 published titles including Because of Winn-Dixie, The Tiger Rising, The Tale of Despereaux, and Flora & Ulysses. The Tale of Despereaux and Flora & Ulysses each earned DiCamillo a Newbery Medal for children’s literature....

Signs of Namor theSub-Mariner and his underwater kingdom showing up in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever continue to grow. The Avenging Son was widely believed to be the big baddie in the sequel, and it has long been speculated that Tenoch Huerta has been cast in the coveted role. Interestingly, Huerta’s name is listed on the Wakanda Forever’s IMDb page, but no role is given. MCU is getting closer and closer to addressing a sliver of rumors and has now seemingly released the first look at the Atlanteans with an image of Namor’s rival, Attuma....

Veteran of the screen Nicolas Cage is an accomplished performer with an Academy Award win and dozens of film titles under his belt, but he’d rather you not call him an actor. In a new interview with Variety’s Awards Circuit podcast, Cage spoke at length about his career. ABC’s hit fairy tale series Once Upon a Time will be coming to a close after this current Season 7, it was confirmed by co-creator Adam Horowitz earlier today. Queer as Folk was an LGBTQ+ drama that centered around the lives of three gay men living in Manchester, England. The show first aired in the U.K. in 1999 and ran for ten episodes on Channel 4. Queer as Folk revolutionized gay representation onscreen and is regarded as one of the best LGBTQ+ TV shows of all time. Created by Russel T. Davies, the show was based on Davies’ personal experiences of the gay community on Canal Street, which ran the gauntlet of emotions....

Ralph Fiennes is in talks to star in director Mike Newell’s new adaptation of Great Expectations. The actor is circling the role of the mysterious Magwitch. The actor is only in early talks at the moment, since there are some scheduling issues to be worked out. Ralph Fiennes is starring in a new stage version of The Tempest, which opens in late August, which is right around the time Mike Newell wants to start production....

Robert Downey Jr. is one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, particularly from his decade-long tenure as Tony Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After Avengers: Endgame, Downey Jr. parted ways with the franchise and has since taken on a number of projects. His first post-MCU effort, the 2020 Dolittle reboot, was a major box office flop, losing Universal an estimated $50–100 million. Fortunately, the two-time Oscar-nominated actor has seen a resurgence in his career....

Another big star has just been added to the cast of Prime Video’s Red One. In the works at Prime Video, the holiday movie was previously announced to star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Chris Evans. Now, per Deadline, it’s been revealed that Lucy Liu (Charlie’s Angels, Kill Bill) has boarded the cast as well. The film also features Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) who boarded the project last month....

Linas Phillips is taking an interesting approach to the release of his upcoming improvisational road trip comedy Bass Ackwards. For the first time in history, a film will bypass its theatrical window and become available nationwide the day after its World Premiere at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Keeping in step with its title, Bass Ackwards will be on the market for purchase and downloading on February 1st, with a more in-depth DVD release to follow in the spring....

Although Marlon Wayans has teased White Chicks 2 for many years, even suggesting that now would be an excellent time to make a sequel to his 2004 hit movie as recently as last year, it seems that there may be one thing that stops the film from ever being made and that is the makeup process required. Although fans keep asking for a sequel of the controversial comedy to be made, Marlon Wayans recently had a funny response about there being any chance of him getting back into the movie’s character again....

WandaVision may have lost out at the Emmys earlier this year, walking away with none of the big acting awards it was nominated for and managing to be snubbed everywhere except a few smaller categories and the surprise win for the song Agatha All Along, which was featured in the Marvel series. Now, WandaVision has another shot at awards glory along with Marvel’s What If…? as both shows are up for five awards at the Critics Choice Awards between them....

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are set to reunite once more with a new biopic on the notorious crime figure Whitey Bulger for Warner Bros. Ben Affleck will direct, co-star, and produce the untitled biopic, while Matt Damon will star as Whitey Bulger. Casey Affleck has also landed a supporting role. Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter is writing the screenplay, which will span Whitey Bulger’s entire life, from childhood through his rise up the Boston criminal ranks and becoming an FBI informant....
