As practically everyone knows, comedians have come under attack these days for comments that allegedly offended a few folks. Nonetheless, the new A&E two-part documentary Right to Offend: The Black Comedy Revolution, which airs Wednesday and Thursday at 8 p.m. EST is sure to remind viewers that jokes are either insulting or self-deprecating. Naturally, one of the comedians featured in the short is the trailblazing, outspoken Richard Pryor. Rain Pryor is ecstatic about honoring her late father’s legacy....

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’s Joseph Mawle has responded to the recent news that his role in the Prime Video fantasy series will be recast for the show’s second season. Among the announcements of new cast members joining the J.R.R Tolkien adaptation, it was revealed that Mawle would not be reprising his role as Adar. Instead, the part will be taken over by Sam Hazeldine in the new season, which is not expected to hit screens until 2024....

Emmy-winning actress, producer, author and social activist Marlo Thomas will guest star in an upcoming episode of ABC’s comedy hit Ugly Betty this fall. She’ll appear as Sandra Winthrop, the owner of a large jewelry company with a penchant for younger men – Daniel Meade (Eric Mabius) in particular. Daniel plans to use his charms to woo Sandra to become a Mode advertiser, and to prove to his family that he’s a savvy businessman....

Marvel Entertainment, Inc., a global character-based entertainment and licensing company founded in 1939, announced that at a special meeting held this morning, Marvel stockholders approved the adoption of the Agreement and Plan of Merger entered into by Marvel and The Walt Disney Company, which provides for a merger in which Marvel will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Disney. Michael McKean has joined the cast of AMC’s Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul, as the first brand new character who didn’t originate in the flagship series. The actor will portray an attorney named Dr. Thurber, who has come down with, “an unusual affliction,” according to Deadline. Thurber was one of six new regular characters revealed in a March report. The other characters yet to be cast are Burt, a “Kennedy” type lawyer from a prestigious firm, another lawyer named Beth, Eddie, a Spanish-speaking career criminal and 20-something twin brothers Zack and Eddie, both of whom are skateboarders....

March 17th, 2022, two years after the first mention, Netflix announced the July release of the anticipated re-envisioning of the horror franchise favorite Resident Evil. In the latest featurette released by Sony Pictures India, actors Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx can be seen reminiscing on their history with the Spider-Man franchise as well as sharing their excitement to once again don their costumes and reunite with their villainous characters.
