Michael Rymer, best known for his directing and producing work on the Sci-Fi Channel’s revision of Battlestar Galactica will direct and co-produce Witchblade, based on the comic from Top Cow Productions. Rymer is currently working on the series finale for Battlestar Galactica and according to Variety will begin work on Witchblade shortly. In addition to his work on Battlestar Galactica and the Witchblade, Rymer has also just wrapped production on Revolution, a two-hour pilot for NBC Universal and the Sci Fi Channel....

The new thriller, The King Tide, has just wrapped production in Newfoundland. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film aims to be deeper than most big-budget thrillers. The King Tide stars Frances Fisher (Titanic) and Lara Jean Chorostecki from Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley. The indie centers around life in a small fishing village, which becomes eerily unsettling. Paramount Pictures has inked a first-look producing deal with Platinum Dunes, the genre division run by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, according to Variety. The Platinum Dunes deal puts him and his partners in position to be the go-to guys for low-budget fright fare. “We offer a valuable service to the studio, especially with all this turmoil going on in the business right now, in that we do things cheaply, and we’ve had a lot of success with it,” Bay said....

It’s back to the drawing board for Pretty Little Liars, as the teen mystery series is getting a new reboot from Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Reportedly, Aguirre-Sacasa will be writing the script, and the updated version of the show will follow a new story with new characters. The project is not yet attached to any particular network or streaming service, but with Warner Bros. TV backing the series, HBO Max is reported to be the target destination for the reboot....
Fox has ordered Prison Break to serve another season. According to Variety, Prison Break, which had its third season cut short by the writers strike, is confirmed for a fourth go-round. Fox has ordered 22 episodes from 20th Century Fox TV. The third season of Prison Break revolved around the show’s main characters breaking out of a Panama prison. The show’s exec producers had crafted a midyear cliffhanger at the end of the show’s 13th episode; that ended up serving as a de facto season finale....
