BBC Worldwide North America announces that a stash of BBC master tapes from the 1960s featuring missing episodes of Doctor Who has been recovered in Nigeria, Africa. The BBC has re-mastered the tapes, and is making two stories, The Enemy of the World and The Web of Fear, now available exclusively on iTunes (ITunes.com/DoctorWho). Eleven Doctor Who episodes were discovered (nine of which have not been seen for 46 years) by Philip Morris, director of Television International Enterprises Archive, by tracking records of tape shipments made by the BBC to Africa for transmission....

The official trailer for Season 2 of the Marvel Netflix series Luke Cage has been released online. The new season is releasing June 22 and shows even more promise than the first season of the series. The first season of Luke Cage ended with the titular character being thrown in prison, after he escaped several years before as a result of being experimented on. However, after the events of The Defenders, this season picks up with Luke Cage back on the streets....

Netflix has released the official trailer for the upcoming comedy series Man Vs Bee. Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean, Johnny English) stars in Man Vs Bee as a housesitter whose rivalry with a bumblebee results in all-out chaos. Atkinson has also created the nine-episode series alongside Will Davies. Man Vs Bee is due out on Netflix on June 24, 2022. You can check out the trailer below. Marvel fans were given an enormous amount of reveals as part of last weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con but were thrown by a few notable absences from the roster of upcoming shows and movies heading out of the Disney stable soon. Among those previously announced shows missing from the Phase 4 or 5 lineups was Armor Wars, the Don Cheadle-led series announced during Disney’s Investor Day back in 2020 and was expected to make up part of the current run of releases....

Actor Matthew Perry, who is beloved for his portrayal of Chandler Bing on the hit TV series Friends, recently opened up about his opioid and alcohol addiction, sharing new details about his hospitalization in 2018 and that his battle with the illness almost killed him. The Friends actor has also opened up about the fact that although he tried to hide his condition, the dramatic changes in his appearance from year to year made it obvious to his co-stars, who regularly checked in on Perry to let the actor know they cared about him and his well-being....

Don’t expect Blade, Moon Knight, or any other major MCU character to show up in Marvel’s upcoming Halloween-themed special presentation, Werewolf by Night. Even though Werewolf by Night is described as Marvel’s scariest entry yet and the titular monster, played by Gael Garcia Bernal, has connections to other Marvel superheroes like Blade and Moon Knight in the comics, the TV special will remain isolated from the MCU. Werewolf by Night director Michael Giacchino did consider featuring Blade in the special but ultimately decided against it....

Tom Cruise isn’t as out of favor as some people think. In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Mission: Impossible 3 was tops on both “Nielsen VideoScan’s First Alert sales chart and Home Media Retailing’s rental chart for the week ending Nov. 5.” The popular title moved 3.7 million units, which is “more than either of the two previous releases in the franchise.” Mission: Impossible 3 also sold “an additional 20,000 units” on the two next-generation formats, HD-DVD and Blu-ray Disc....

It’s official: the fourth Mission: Impossible movie will be called Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, according to Gulf News. The title was revealed at a press conference in Dubai, where the upcoming sequel has just started shooting. As a sign of the prolific work being accomplished in the network’s alternative division, NBC has given renewals to a 10th season of America’s Got Talent, a ninth season of Last Comic Standing and a seventh season of American Ninja Warrior, which airs in partnership with Esquire Network. So far this summer, NBC is consistently generating the highest regular-program ratings among the Big 4 networks, and has won every week this summer among those nets in adults 18-49 excluding the two weeks when ABC carried NBA Finals basketball....

Netflix has announced the first cast members for their upcoming Cowboy Bebop live-action series. We first learned that the streaming service had locked down a deal to bring the classic anime to life last November and now we know who is going to be portraying most of the main characters in the series. Steven Soderbergh’s new limited series Godless sees the director exploring the Western genre for Netflix, and the streaming service has just released the first trailer for the star studded 7-episode run. The trailer looks like a tough and gritty Western seen through a dark lens and prepares viewers with a tiny hint about what’s to come for the new show. Death touches everything and lingers through almost every frame, leading one to believe that Godless will be dark in more ways than just the style of filming....

Johnny Lawrence and Sensei John Kreese are together again on the Cobra Kai Season 2 set. YouTube Red’s Cobra Kai is back in action, filming for the second season, which is scheduled to be released next summer. William Zabka and Ralph Macchio recently appeared at NYCC and revealed that the show will contain 10 episodes like the first season, but that they will more than likely be longer because Season 2 is going to delve deeper into the characters, which is awesome news for fans....

Ahead of its debut on the streaming service this week, Netflix has released an official trailer for the animated movie Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus. Of course, the one-off movie serves as a sequel to the Nickelodeon cartoon series Invader Zim, which has maintained a strong cult following to this day. While Nickelodeon is getting in on the revival trend by developing new episodes of Rugrats, Netflix has also stepped in to bring back other classic Nicktoons like Invader Zim and Rocko’s Modern Life....

One of the summer TV season’s biggest shows will have a new host this year, with Nick Cannon revealing in a lengthy social media statement that he is leaving America’s Got Talent after hosting the hit series for eight of its 11 seasons. The actor/comedian/musician was reportedly threatened with termination after the debut of his new Showtime stand-up comedy special, Nick Cannon: Stand Up, Don’t Shoot, featured a joke at NBC’s expense, which the network claimed was in breach of his contract....

Long-running Halloween star Nick Castle, who has played the murderous Michael Myers since 1978, has teased a “surprising” story and an unexpected ending to the slasher legend in this year’s Halloween Ends. Directed by David Gordon Green, Halloween Ends will wrap up the franchise and the feud between The Shape and Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode, which was of course reignited in 2018’s legacy sequel, Halloween. But what could this “ending for everyone” that is also something that you would never have guessed involve exactly?...

Paramount Pictures has beat out Fox and other studios for the rights to Joe Schreiber’s upcoming novel Au Revoir, Crazy European Chick, according to Deadline New York. The novel was just sold on Friday to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and a bidding war for the adaptation rights was said to go down between Paramount and Fox before Paramount won the auction. The site also reports that Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will be involved in some capacity on the film....
