Star Trek: Picard has found its showrunner. The upcoming series, which is set to bring back Patrick Stewart as the iconic Jean Luc Picard, will air on CBS All Access later this year and it’s been revealed that Michael Chabon will be the man in charge. The Pulitzer Prize-winning author had previously been revealed as a member of the writer’s room, but he’s been given a serious promotion. According to a new report, Michael Chabon has been working closely with Akiva Goldsman, and Alex Kurtzman, who serve as executive producers on the series....

On a new episode of NBC’s returning drama Chuck (Mondays, 8-9 p.m. ET), Special Agent Sarah Walker (series star Yvonne Strahovski, Gone) gets a bad blast from the past when she comes face to face with her high school nemesis – played by guest star Nicole Richie (The Simple Life) – for broadcast this fall. Richie will guest-star in the episode as the snarky and spiteful girl who tortured Sarah in school – and now Sarah must face her fears when she is forced to attend her 10-year high school reunion for a mission with Chuck (series star Zachary Levi, Less Than Perfect) as her date....

Showtime has announced the air dates for some its highly-anticipated programming for first and second quarter 2010. Highlighting the new schedule will be a Monday comedy block pairing of the second season of Showtime’s acclaimed Nurse Jackie starring Emmy award-winner Edie Falco leading into the second season of The United States of Tara showcasing Toni Collette in her Emmy award-winning title role. Nurse Jackie will premiere on Monday, March 22 at 10:00 PM ET/PT followed by The United States of Tara at 10:30 PM ET/PT....

After rewatching his Disney+ show Obi-Wan Kenobi, one moment made star Ewan McGregor cry. For fans of the iconic 2009 horror film Orphan, the wait is finally over. The prequel film Orphan: First Kill (originally titled Esther) is headed to theaters and streaming. It follows Leena Klammer (Isabelle Fuhrman) as she pretends to be a young girl named Esther to escape Estonia. However, the mother she is “reunited” with catches on that something isn’t quite right. Audiences will see what started it all. William Brent Bell (The Boy, The Devil Inside) directs the film, while the screenplay was written by David Coggeshall....

Period dramas are and always have been extremely popular, though they’ve perhaps become most common in recent years. The popular Downton Abbey showed the life of the aristocratic British family the Crawleys and their servants in 1928. Also set in the Queen’s land, the fictional British upper class are depicted during the social season in England’s capital in Bridgerton....

Musician R. Kelly wanted to fight comedian Dave Chappelle over the “P*ss on You” sketch. In 2003, Chappelle’s Show lampooned Kelly’s then-legal troubles, which quickly went on to become one of the hit show’s most popular sketches. In 2002, video surfaced of Kelly allegedly urinating on an underage girl and it caught the attention of law enforcement. Since then, and even before, Kelly has been accused of sexual abuse by multiple women and is the focus of a new docuseries entitled Surviving R....

Warner Bros. is realizing that sometimes there isn’t too much of a bloody good thing. In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, they reveal that the second title in their “Raw Feed” direct-to-video series, Sublime, will be coming to DVD March 13. This film follows “a man admitted to a hospital for a routine procedure, only to discover that he’s landed in a ward of horror where patients come not to get better but to die....

Actor-singer Jesse McCartney has scored the final role on Fox’s drama pilot Locke & Key, reports Deadline. Jesse McCartney will play Ty, the eldest of the Locke children, which is considered the male lead on the show. Based on the comic by Joe Hill, Locke & Key tells the story of Nina Locke (Miranda Otto) and her three children, Tyler (Jesse McCartney), Kinsey (Sarah Bolger), and Bode (Skylar Gaertner) who, after the brutal murder of Nina’s husband Rendell Locke, return to Keyhouse, his old family home in Massachusetts....

M3GAN, the highly anticipated horror film from Blumhouse studios, is set to hit theaters this Friday. CBS has ordered eight episodes of Jingles, a nonscripted series from Mark Burnett in which contestants compete to dream up memorable melodies on behalf of real products, according to Variety. Teams of players will be given weekly jingle-writing assignments – coming up with, say, the next Oscar Mayer wiener song or a new pitch for Coke – and will then have to perform them in front of a studio audience. Viewer votes will determine a weekly winner (where winning jingles will end up in a real ad) and loser (who will go home)....
